Just this morning, I received a text thanking God for using me to write this book on prayer with added prayer prompters, and pages to journal. Here’s what they said, “Gail, thank you! Jesus and The Father are #ONE. This can be hard to grasp, Jesus knew. So He gave us visible clues to #believe. If you wonder about this, #AskHim. #Hewillanswer (at Escondido, California)

Love Is True.
Love Is True.
John 14:15 – “If you love me, obey my commandments.”
We must obey the Lord, regardless of how we feel or what our emotions tell us. The Lord has planned everything out in his perfect wisdom. The Lord hates hypocrisy but he has shown us how to love without being hypocrites.
What is the one command that God has given us? All the other commandments can be summed up in this one. John 15:12 – “This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.”
God has commanded us to love one another with a sincere love. But you might ask, how can I love someone if I don’t know them? Or if they have wronged me?
Okay wait, you’re not hearing me slow down.
It doesn’t matter how we FEEL. See that’s the thing, love isn’t an emotion it’s an action. That’s where faith comes in. We need faith to love those who persecute us, the people we don’t know. And when I say persecute I mean the people who hate us and lie to us. We need to be obedient to God in loving everyone no matter how other people make us feel.
James 2:17 – “So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.”
God wants to cut off the chains of our emotions. Before we know or love God, we are controlled primarily by our emotions. Because we feel happy or good then we love but isn’t that wrong? Is that not selfish?
God wants us to love sincerely, he hates hypocrisy. So therefore we have to find another reason to love besides our emotions. That’s where obedience comes in.
John 14:15 – “If you love me, obey my commandments.”
So by loving others, we actually love God in a sincere way. So it’s a true love not a farce, we love others not because of anything they have done to deserve it, but because we love our God and that’s what he has commanded us to do.
But sometimes we are discouraged because of what people think or how they treat us in return. Some people just don’t know love at all because they don’t know God. 1st John 4:8 – “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”
So we get discouraged and feel like giving up because we don’t get love in return. It’s hard to persevere in a world that doesn’t know Christ at all and so they don’t know love. But we Christian’s must remain strong. Regardless of how we feel, we love God because he commands us to. If we don’t love other people then we don’t love God because we aren’t obeying his commandments and we aren’t showing him love.
Ask God to give you a loving heart for his people. Ask God to give you faith so that even in the face of disrespect and discouragements you will never abandon love because then you are abandoning God.
God gives us great and wonderful promises for obeying his commandments. He will give us everything we ask for if asked in the right faith. For he is our Father, and he hears us for we are his children.
Luke 11:11 – “You fathers—if your children ask for a fish, do you give them a snake instead? Or if they ask for an egg, do you give them a scorpion? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.”
So don’t be afraid to ask God for a heart that loves and gives. If you don’t have one he won’t condemn you. He says in Matthew 9:1 (when he is talking to the Pharisees), “But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
He already knows your heart, but God is a gentleman; he won’t intrude and change your heart for you, he will wait for you to ask. Isaiah 30:18 – “So the LORD must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the LORD is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for his help.”
So don’t wait another day. Don’t spend another day in agony. He wants you to come to him. He wants to help his people. He said as much to his people in Jerusalem.
Matthew 23:27 – “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones God's messengers! How often I have wanted to gather your children together as a hen protects her chicks beneath her wings, but you wouldn't let me.”
He wants to protect you; he wants to give you all the happiness in the world. He created it so obviously he knows where it is! So trust him, he has plans to give you all the joy there is.
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’”
Enough with trying to find a new reason to live every day., enough of saying fuck life I just don’t give a fuck anymore (I lived that way too for a long time), enough of living life in fear and misery, trying to understand why everyone else has it all together and you don’t, enough of saying what’s wrong with me?
Be done with that. Turn to God and he will sort out your life, your troubles and your sorrows. He will help you, he will guide you, he will never leave you or forsake you. Ask the God of peace and happiness to come into your life, and it will be the best decision you’ve ever made. I promise you that much.
