i will not stand for the progaganda of gansey only being serious and condescending!!

adam and ronan (little shits) love gansey for his personality! they all get along because they have the same sense of humour and because they like him

especially adam, because their friendship exists beyond their conflict! i’ve always seen hey tiger as a stupid joke that adam would find funny on a normal day in an attempt to lighten the mood before a serious conversation.

only reading it as gansey being condescending doesn’t give any credit to his humour or his friendship with adam

"Hey, tiger," Gansey murmurs, sliding up behind Adam where he's messing around under the Pig's hood. He's shorter than Adam which means he's the perfect height to breathe hot air over his neck and make Adam shiver.

"Gansey," Adam replies, twitching. Gansey casually wraps his arms around Adam's waist and draping himself over Adam's back. "I'm trying to fix your hopeless car."

"The Pig has plenty of spirit." Gansey settles his chin on Adam's shoulder. Adam can practically feel the beseeching, brown gaze Gansey is resting upon him. "Come inside, it's too hot."

Adam makes one last, valiant effort to ignore Gansey, but like a cat winding around someone's ankles, Gansey makes that irritatingly difficult. He rucks up Adam's dirtied singlet, just the tiniest bit, and spreads his hands over Adam's bare midriff. The heat of Gansey's palms is driving him crazy and Gansey doesn't even know. He just likes touching Adam's bare skin, which is the most infuriating part of all.

"Alright." Adam wipes his hands on a rag and ducks out from beneath the hood, biting down on his tongue as Gansey's fingers accidentally brush a bit too low. "You have to let go, you know."

"Right, of course." Gansey retracts his hands only for Adam to spin around and interlock one in his own, stepping closer so their shoulders bump together. Gansey smiles warmly, and it's worth every time he interrupts Adam while he's busy, every stupid dad-joke nickname and every fight they have, because they'll keep making up every time.
