So this is a very late birthday drawing for @hey-erika. I kept trying to come up with a design for her, but couldn't come up with anything that looked good to me, until inspiration struck in a sketch I did the other night, so I emphasized on it and came up with this.

I understand that self checkout machines can be picky and difficult, but 90% of the problems I help people with could have been easily solved if they would just READ what the machine was telling them. "Its broken, it won't let me scan" the VERY OBVIOUS pop-up on the screen is telling you the machine is card-only and is asking if you want to continue, you have to press YES or NO, like its telling you right there on the screen. It is RIGHT THERE FOR GOD'S SAKE JUST READ.

!! tbh i really love the Sun Riders, so! i do have a few, though some may be contradictory---i’ve never been able to commit to just one lmao :)

okay so, this is less a headcanon and more an OC plug. but, @youareshauni and i came up with an OC named Asteria Ashton. like Clayton, Asteria came from a wealthy family. also like Clayton, Asteria moonlighted as a super hero: the Sunrider. she came from a family of heroes with solar powers. hers were flame-related, I believe?, and she also had a really cool bike.

Aurora Six is her granddaughter/great granddaughter, but... the powers skipped her. & she’s a little bitter about it? but she really admires heroes in general! but that’s part of why she took Skeleton King up on his offer. she started working on the show because it was made in homage to her grandmother; the three of them meant to be the next generation of heroes!

okay! now for headcanons :D let’s start with some broad ones—

i think they met on the Sun Rider’s set / rehearsal. i don’t think they quite hit it off at first but i also don’t think there was any deep animosity? but by the end of the first season or so, they were really close!

all of them got their big break with the Sun Riders show! prior to that most of them had been no-name actors!

all of them felt some kind of connection with the show. they really vibed with parts of it—maybe the message or the homage to superheroes. they put a lot of heart into it.

the Sun Rider’s show dominated their lives. definitely a case of actors being overworked. none of them minded / tried to strike that work-life balance because they loved their job/the show so much.

the show was cancelled suddenly (because i’m unable to resist real life parallels) & though they campaigned to finish it… they couldn’t. it was devastating.

they tried to move on to other things but couldn’t let go of the bitterness of having their show cancelled. they also didn’t feel like anything felt as “important” or “fulfilling” as the SR. which of course made them susceptible to SK’s machinations.

after the Sun riders were evicted from Shuggazoom (to put it mildly) they kind of... drifted for a bit before crashlanding on the colony.

the people there were kind to them despite their own hardships, and when the Formless began attacking, the Sun Riders saw their chance to be heroes---for real this time. they worked with the colonists to protect the town & learned lots of important life lessons about what it means to be heroes.

i think they do still visit that colony often, but i think once it was safe, they continued being heroes on other colonies/planets, aiding the team in stopping Skeleton King’s / the Dark One’s forces.

& then for some character specific ones—

Johnny Sunspot was a child star, but he never really played in anything well known. he wasn’t in the spotlight from around 11 to 17, until he decided to try out for the Sun Riders. when he meets the team he’s in his mid-to-early twenties.

JS was rather spoiled, and grew up in relative comfort. he was pretty used to getting his way which occasionally caused friction with his teammates / co-stars.

despite his character being a genius, JS is. not quite as smart. however, he’s still very intelligent!

Aurora Six had been auditioning for a lot of things, but mostly got background roles. she did do some modeling on the side, but it wasn’t really her ‘thing.’

she learned from an early age that she could use her looks to get what she wanted, and she did. however, she does harbor some bitterness over that because she does have other talents.

i like to think she’s a very creative sort, and a decent writer herself! perhaps also an artist? idk, i just had the random thought of her being really into comics / making comics and i love that now.

Super Quasar used to be like... a bodybuilder. he was really into the fitness scene. i also think he did a lot of like... plays? and one day decided to go for acting jobs.

SQ, i headcanon, is a really good cook! however, he likes to make sure his meals are always balanced to give the best nutrition!

he’s also very much an early riser, i think. & maybe a stress cleaner??

Hi! I was wondering if you knew of like, specific episodes or moments that show or talk about Shuggazoom's geography? Like the stuff the surrounds the city and also where certain things might be (like the blasted lands)? I kinda wanna make a map of Shuggazoom and I was just wondering what exactly we DO know about it and how much of it will have to be headcanon. Does that make sense? I feel like I'm rambling too much...

I have a friend who needed to make a map of shuggazoom for her Otto game, and she specifically made a video about how fucking confusing and frustrating it was. I’ll find it in a bit

There’s no specific episode or time i can think of as talking about it, but Pit Of Doom provides a nice reference point for where the Pit Of Doom is and roughly on which side of the planet most of the later locations are. Chiro’s girl provides a reference for where the main “corridor” of buildings is and the bridge. 

the savage lands can give you a vague direction??

For the blasted lands and the Ice place, I have NO IDEA. my only guess is the Ice place is near one of the poles and the blasted lands are near active volcanoes... so you could approximate them if you spot a mountain on a zoom out????? Then again, I physically can’t watch the finale so i might be wrong on the vagueness.

Let’s see! 5 headcanons for Gibson—

picked his accent up at a university / wherever he learned all his science stuff. before that he spoke like the rest of the monkeys. he keeps the accent bc it makes him stand out, and in his mind, sound more ‘posh.’

while he serves as the team’s medic, i don’t believe that was his primary field of study. i lean more towards him studying chemistry (or perhaps biochemistry? i’m not well-versed in the sciences)

i personally like to think that he has a doctorate, even though he introduces himself as mr. hal gibson.

kind of a headcanon for him and otto?? but i like to think they studied at the same school, though they didn’t have many/any classes together.

gibson’s concept of time is rather like mine: which is to say, non existent. he functions on his own schedule, which is constantly changing & shifting. he’s known to spend several days not sleeping, or going to bed really late, because he got caught up in a project.
