Walking home 🔆

I started reading my first full Korean novel and so far, it's SO good. It's a very slow process (like... 2 pages a day lol) but I'm learning a lot of good words and as time goes on I think I'll get faster. The plot is super interesting and I'm already extremely invested in the main character and his Russian Blue named Kant lmao

Day 18/28 ; What’s the best advice you’ve received and consciously try to follow? "Do not compare yourself with others, only compare yourself to your past self!" This is especially true for me because I'm studying language. It's very easy to compare yourself with your peers or even with a native speaker and feel bad because your levels are different, so when these moments happen I always pull up my old notes app Korean diary from 2017 and appreciate just how far I've come. It helps a lot!

Day 3/31 ; What in your life has not gone as you planned it to go? Did it end up better or worse than you expected? I'll be honest, I definitely did not expect me to end up majoring in Korean in university. I originally planned on something more STEM-related because my parents told me that's what would make me money. However, I am very happy with my choice and am having a blast immersing myself in learning Korean here. I feel like I've learned more in the past year than I have all the year before combined!
