A continuation of "Of the Heart" from volume 1 of @hotguycomiczine, in this comic of ghost issues we explore the fallout from the bug arc :J

i got @isjasz in a secret santa gift exchange over the holidays, so naturally i had to do something with her Hotguy and Cuteguy from Hotguy Comics Zinethology! i love these designs so much, this was so fun to do <3

@hotguycomiczine Honoured to be the first post for the HGCZ tumblr re-run!! And I'm doubly honoured to represent the next amazing comic—it was a delight to work with both traff and brie for this. And!! thank you to julia for lovingly doing the cover title typography <3

Closeups and rambles below

Had a loada of fun with the colouring on this one bcs rendering was done by gently layering my pencil brush and only colourpicking from an edited prismacolor swatch! It led to a lot of creative colour choices but I think the effect is neat.

There are so many hard-to-read things but it was really enjoyable to draw all the little details for the rough linework. And the logo!! I thought it was funny and I think the graffiti worked out well.

I wish I could've done more for this zine but alas, I procrastinated really hard with this illustration and when 2026 came around with the opportunity to contribute more I was down for the count 😔 Maybe another zine some day!!
