o boi now i'm thinking abt an entirely different star fox fic idea
ok so, another post-star fox command except this time it's a combination of mainly the good-bye fox ending and lucy and krystal endings with sprinklings of the star wolf returns ending.
it starts like the lucy and krystal endings where there's a big feast/party and everyone's drinking but instead of fox and krystal making up and her rejoining the team, they all decide to split up the sf team bc they're all tired and star wolf were the ones who rlly saved the day, they deserve their time in the limelight (enter star wolf ending here). emotions are high, things happen, fox and krystal wake up like "okay that happened" and move on.
krystal joins star wolf and is with them for a while, a month or so later she's feeling nauseous early in the mornings and panther's worrying rubs off on wolf and leon so they take her to a doctor on corneria and find out she's pregnant (marcus)
they can't find fox so they contact peppy, who's got nothing. slippy has no clue either. falco doesn't either but tells star wolf to meet at his apartment on corneria and falco asks krystal if she rlly wants to find fox to tell him that this is his kid. she says yes.
a few months of searching on different planets and they find bill, who asks them why they haven't checked papetoon, since that was where fox always said he'd retire. they jet over to papetoon and ask around. yes, fox was here. but he hadn't been seen in a couple months. they're worried now he's holed himself inside.
falco takes star wolf to fox's childhood home where he knocks on the door. it opens and they find it ransacked.
they notify peppy and the message that fox mccloud is missing is across the lylat system. krystal asks for the fact she's carrying fox's child to be kept quiet. they continue their search for him using clues they found in his ransacked home.
BIG OL' SPOILERS AHEAD LOL
krystal has marcus and she's devastated fox couldn't be there. she was beyond happy falco was. they grow closer and over the course of a couple years fall in love and legally get married. they continue their search for fox. marcus calls falco his dad.
in wild space, they have a run in with pirates and contact star wolf for back up, who get there and help falco and krystal infiltrate the large pirate ship where the captain has his armored first mate pick them off. or, try to.
the movements of the first mate are familiar and krystal can feel smth from him. the armor and smth else is making it messy from being able to tell who it is. she runs in front of the first mate and he freezes and drops his weapons.
he allows krystal to remove his helmet and it's fox. it's so clearly fox, worn and his eyes are somewhat blank, struggling as if he can't remember her. he says she's the women he sees in his dreams, the voice he hears. but he can't remember her name. she says her name softly and fox is so relieved. he looks at falco and falco awkwardly reintroduces himself and fox's eyes light up and all he can do it hug them.
they catch up with star wolf, wolf's jaw on the floor. panther is overjoyed and sweeps fox up in a humongous hug, leon even hugs him. wolf and fox look at each other and wolf holds out his hand, offering a shake. fox says no and pulls wolf into a hug, wolf pulls away and wipes his eye. he wasn't crying stfu.
they help fox escape and falco and krystal have fox stay with them on their ship while star wolf go back to sargasso. they sit fox down and slowly explain everything, including the romance between them and that they are married. krystal can feel fox's heart tear more with every word and she asks if he wants to stop hearing things for now so he can process. he says yes. he gets up and leaves to go to bed.
marcus is asleep and falco says to krystal they'll introduce fox and marcus in the morning. they go to get ready for bed themselves and find fox curled up, sitting against the wall sobbing with marcus offering him a cup of water. marcus is now 6 years old, and explains he heard someone crying and saw this man. who is he, mama?
krystal and falco sit on the floor with them and krystal grabs fox's hand and marcus's hand. she explains that yes, falco is marcus's dad in that he is raising him, but he is not marcus's birth father. it dawns on fox what happened and when, and it hits him he missed his son's birth, the first six years of his son's life.
krystal and falco hold onto fox as he sobs, marcus squeezing in between and getting in fox's lap and hugging him. fox hugs him back and cries until he can't anymore. falco asks marcus how he feels abt having 2 dads and a mom. marcus asks if he can have another mom so it can be 2 and 2. that makes fox laugh a little and falco and krystal are relieved to hear that. they put marcus back to bed and falco and krystal have fox sleep in their room, in their bed between them.
foxfalkrystal happens over time, they all raise marcus and it's rocky in the beginning but fox starts seeing a psychiatrist very frequently and slowly heals. they're all happy and a family.
