Some of the occurrences regarding the financial services industry have made many of us question the ethics and practices of all financial institutions. Please see below a message from Luis Pastor, CEO of the Latino Community Credit Union: Recent events in the financial services industry help to underscore the importance of the LCCU and the Credit Union difference. At LCCU, we are proud to put our members first. Our staff reflects our membership and has their best interests at heart, spending the time necessary to ensure that members understand our products and services. We work to meet the needs of members and their families as they work to improve their financial futures. In contrast to some other financial institutions’ employees, our staff is salaried and never work on commission, preventing incentives that are not aligned with the best interests of the member. Our cooperative structure helps ensure that we work in the best interest of our member-owners. Every decision we make underscores our belief in economic opportunity for all – it’s that simple.
Along with Univision and Fusion, we're excited to invite you to an event focused on how Latinos can empower communities as financial agents of change. Representatives from Calvert Foundation's Vested.org, Kiva.org and Latino Community Credit Union will join us as panelists as we tackle how one can be #ParteDeLaSolution in advancing economic opportunity for the community.
Join us on Wednesday, September 14th at Impact Hub San Francisco at 7:00PM! Register for the event here.

Lima took her knowledge of and experience in cleaning and turned it into a home cleaning business. Before starting her business, however, she put her personal finances in order by attending LCCU’s financial education workshops.

The Perfect Dream House
Ruth Nelly Corredor originally immigrated to the United States as a political refugee from Colombia. She was granted asylum, and has lived in the United States ever since. Ruth takes us through a tour of her home, which she financed with Latino Credit Union. She also gives us a sneak peak of her garage that she renovated with artwork in homage of her home country, Colombia.
