it was the first time you’d truly seen caleb’s metal arm out, staring intently at it from across the room. he’d shown it to you a couple times, never keeping it in its raw form too long when you were around. your eyes are wide as you take in every detail and whir, caleb doesn’t notice until it’s too late, shame filling him as he tries to hide the cold limb behind him.
“I’m sorry I’ll put it away-” he scrambles, you immediately shake your head, crossing the room and placing your hand on the cool material, it send a shiver down your spine as your fingertips trace every ridge.
caleb notices the lust in your gaze immediately, something dark twisting in his stomach as he takes in your flustered state. for a moment he’s too stunned to even come up with any thoughts, let alone speak.
“it’s- is it uh- waterproof like this?” you ask, face burning, shame out the window as you feel a familiar heat pooling between your thighs at the thoughts running in your head.
caleb’s eyes darken, he knows the intentions behind your question. he’s crowding you against the wall, metal fingers ghosting over your hot skin, waiting a moment before slowly wrapping them around your neck. he doesn’t place any pressure, amethyst eyes blown wide as he hears a whimper leave your lips, eyes immediately glossing over as you look up at him.
“mm it’s waterproof, yes,” he purrs, a smirk playing on his lips as he leans down, placing a kiss to the edges of your lips, “should we… try it out?”
a broken moan leaves your lips, vision blurring as you feel his bulge press against your thighs. the flushed look on your face as you begin to frantically nod pushes him over the edge. a low rumble in his chest as he applies the slightest bit of pressure, watching as your mouth gapes open in a pathetic gasp.
“please ‘leb,” you whisper, “need you.”
you stop his flesh hand as he tries to get under your waistband, shaking your head. caleb’s brows furrows for a second, gears turning as he realizes you were serious.
“pips, no. I can’t- no that’s too risky,” he shakes his head, metal hand completely removed from your body as he takes a step back. you whine at the loss of contact, immediately seeking him out and grabbing his metal hand with both of yours.
“i want it caleb, please,” the pout on your lips makes his knees buckle, the utter desperation on your face makes his resolve crumble.

In case anyone here is as clueless as Blazer was, Theo isn’t a normal companion- he’s part peacemaker, having stolen one’s body in order to escape the confines of the house he was physically attached to.
I think about it sort of like a turtle shell, or if you flicked your own fingernail. You still feel it, but it’s clearly muffled/dulled by the hard surface. That being, for Theo, the straight up steel xe’re made of— in comparison to the far cheaper & thinner aluminum alloy of typical companions. Blazer’s about to punch the back of Theo’s shoulder, and find himself with a broken hand.
Xir head, however, is still vulnerable- and quite sensitive in comparison. It takes a lot for xem to trust anyone to touch xem there…
Being part peacemaker is something he’s incredibly secretive about- letting whispers of xir uniqueness and Previously Haunted Residence go without address, which eventually leads to Blazer prodding xem for answers. Theo trusts him well enough by that point and, rather flatly, tells the truth about xir gaining sentience, luring of an officer, bodily takeover, and… the rest is history.
