Less talked about costs of climate change:
Due to warmer weather insects are able to live in areas they weren’t able to. The big examples that come to mind as dangerous first would be mosquitoes, ticks and fleas.
These insects are spreading dangerous and deadly diseases that can be costly to treat.
For humans this includes Zika virus spread by mosquitoes. Zika virus is a risk for anyone wanting to bear a child because it can cause birth defects.

For pets this includes heart worms, also spread by mosquitoes. Heart worms can literally stop a heart by clogging it if you don’t catch it in time!
