NEW MUSIC/VIDEO: Munroe - “Summer”
Now with the warm weather ahead we can now start to allow ourselves to get caught up in the warm weather. Kathleen Munroe (or just Munroe as she’s chosen to go by) was caught up when she wrote the breezey, indie rock track “Summer”. Although this is only the second single from the Hamilton born singer we expect more greatness in the form of lo-fi beach rock, sparkled with folk influence on the upcoming record from Hidden Pony. And with help from friends including Noah Fralick (Young Rival), Ben Munoz (New Hands), Julie Fader (Etiquette) and more, we can set any expectations in stone.
Watch the video for “Summer” above. The debut EP from Munroe is out May 12th via Hidden Pony.

NEW MUSIC: Rah Rah - "Good Winter"
While most of us are fearing what this winter is bringing, prairie rockers Rah Rah are taking us back to the good times and the bad in December with the new track "Good Winter".
Frontman Marshall Burns said this about the track in statement:
"This song is a romanticized re-imagining of being a young adult in a small Canadian city. The overly nostalgic tone is meant to underline the dichotomy between the 'good winter' described in the song and the reality of the harsh cold, boredom and loneliness that, in actuality, accompanies a typical winter (particularly in our hometown of Regina, Saskatchewan). The song aims to be a reminder, to ourselves as much as anyone, of the unique and positive aspects of those cold, long winter months."
The bittersweet taste of nostalgia is the first glimpse the band band has offered from their upcoming album Vessles wich is due out in March via Hidden Pony Records.
NEW VIDEO: Rah Rah - Prairie Girl
The single from the 2012 album The Poet's Dead is honored with a second music video. This version of "Prairie Girl shows the Saskatchewan band out and touring in Germany while they were overseas last fall.
Rah Rah is definitely one of my favourite Canadian bands and I love to hear how much they've matured since their first album Going Steady (2008).
You can check out the first version of the music video here.
Once again, Winnipeg pop-rock outfit Imaginary Cities are previewing their upcoming album, Fall of Romance, with a cryptically arty teaser video. This minute-long clip showcases a snippet of a lush, upbeat waltz called "Water Under the Bridge." The visuals again show a classy woman in retro-chic clothing along with some vintage-looking machinery. Curiously, the woman seems to be giving her own hand an adjustment with a screwdriver.
