I know someone’s probably already said this on this site, but Julia had to be an amazing strategist, right?
While I whole-heartedly believe she was in the thick of things right next to Magnus, we know Magnus “rushes in” Burnsides. While he’s pretty smart and good at thinking fast in the moment, someone had to help the people of Raven’s Roost plot to overtake an army, someone whose strength was in planning ahead and having excellent foresight, and I know in my gut it had to be Julia, making them the power couple of the rebellion: Magnus rushes in on Julia’s orders that eventually wins them the fight.
Furthermore, who was making weapons for the rebellion? Raven’s Roost was a town of craftsmen. While hammers and saws and sickles might work in the spur of the moment, that only lasts for so long until you lose your weapon or it breaks, and who was close to the head strategist and the face of the rebellion but Steven Waxmen?
If you think about it, that probably made them a pretty terrifying trio: brains, brawn, and the tools to get the job done.
That might be why Governor Callen specifically instructed his men to set a charge close enough to the Hammer and Tongs to blow it into dust.
I have this headcannon that Lup is absolutely gorgeous and obviously she can slay just as hard as Taako, But for all her teasing, she is just as big a nerd as Barry and will most definitely spend days at a time experimenting without changing clothes or showering. Like Taako is a gifted wizard, but he's also a little lazy, and Lup is fascinated with the science behind magic, so Lup's hair is a mess and she's sweaty and covered in potion stains and Barry is falling head over heels for her, whereas Taako has fresh clothes, hair, and makeup to sit around the Starblaster on his day off and cook a grilled cheese. I also see Lup stealing Taako's clothes way more than Taako steals hers, and everyone knows when she and Barry have made a breakthrough because she's looking fantastic and more put-together than she has in a week and he's wearing fresh jeans.
Mavis: *Calls everyone in the IPRE “aunt” or “uncle”*
Mavis: ... And Dav.
Me: *Whispers* Davenchurch is real and Griffin ships it.
A while back I saw someone talk about a DM swap between Critical Role and The Adventure Zone and I was thinking about it last night, and I feel like the Mcelroys would be put through Matthew Mercer’s really strict, super-detailed DMing style and constantly make jokes about him breaking their balls with ACTUAL RULES and also keep saying things like “It’s so weird to have a DM who actually knows how to play D&D!”
Whereas Griffin Mcelroy would be plopped down in a room of professional voice-actors and I think he’d suddenly feel very self conscious about his character voices and DMing style, but let’s be real here - everyone would have a blast fucking around with him for a few hours and it would be adorable.
I'm really pissed no one is talking about the classism in the net neutrality debate? There's a lot of people who can't afford the extra $60+ for internet every month. You can buy a smartphone for $20 and sign up for a cheap data plan and you have access to: - Your online classes/registration - Applying for a new job - E-mail - Registering to vote Plus EVERYTHING ELSE. Net neutrality is an attack on the lower class.
Tonight in D&D
Me: Okay, she spreads her huge Aaracocra wings and takes flight to dive-bomb the griffin.
My Paladin: Cool!
Me: ... But as she swoops in to attack, her body shifts...
My Paladin: Wait...
Me: ... And explodes as she turns into an octopus mid-air...
All players: WAIT, WHAT --
Me: ... And she grapples the griffin as the two plummet to the ground.
My Paladin: HOLD ON -
My Ranger: *Groans of arousal*
My Paladin: HOW DID SHE DO THAT?!
Me: Druids can do that.
My Paladin: WHOA.
My Wizard: Fuckin' rad...
My Ranger: *Whispering* I wanna do her even more now...
Me, to myself, softly but with emotion: baby needs NAP.
