Disabilities come in packs, you can't really just get one.

Sorta like buying Oreos, you can't just buy one, you have to buy a whole pack of them. Some people buy the small bags with mini Oreos, done buy the doubled stuffed. But you really never get one Oreo

Does anyone else with auditory processing disorder find it easier/harder to process different languages?

I speak English and Spanish, but unless I’m focusing and lip reading, I can’t understand what people are saying. BUT I’m also learning Japanese (because I can 😝) and it is 1000x easier to process than the two other languages I have more experience with. I don’t know what the words mean yet, but I can actually hear them instead of doing the guessing game I usually do.

Sometimes I wish there was a way to add a note or something to more stuff, like my grocery pickup order

I just want to give a warning to the poor soul I end up talking to.

I don't want to waste their time trying to explain what an audio processing disorder is.

But I also don't want to waste their time by taking forever processing what they are saying, or asking them to repeat because they talked too fast, or there was background noise that most people can tune out.

If I try to guess what they are saying before I've processed it, and fail, I end up being a frustrating customer.

It's just a matter of time before I have a meltdown over the guilt.
