He tries to go invisible but only his skin goes invisible
He tries to get his (very high) friend(s) attention with weird sounds to throw them off
They are high as sh!t and look over at their friend who has turned into a skinless abomination
In their weed addled minds they come to the conclusion that Danny was either eaten by this thing or he abandoned them
They proceed to scream and run
He thinks they yelled because of something behind him ( because he thinks he is 100% invisible)
He gets scared, screams and runs after them
From their perspective the scary skinless monster just shrieked and started chasing them
Bonus points if they're in the woods and night around a campfire for added vibes
