UNSEEN - final images (part 2/2)
High Speed Flash
Definitely my favorite technique. I love that freezing effect I can get using this technique. Below images of paint splashed in the water, water dropping and paint vibrating using low tunes.

High Speed Flash
Images from high speed flash in studio.
For this image we used the technique of an amp filled with paint connected to a phone and by using a hertz app it caused vibrations in the amp depending on the settings and volume it made the paint jump up to create an image like this.
For this image I filled a syringe with water and clamped it over a jug of water and took the image as the water dropped trying to capture it before it hit the water.
For these two images, I had a water container filled and took an image of red dye being dropped into the water creating the cloud effect. For the image of the dart, I timed pressing the shutter button to when the dart was dropped in the water to get the shot
Unseen - Day 1 in college. Practice with high-speed flash
The high speed flash experiment was probably the most successful one but looking back I was a bit disappointed as I didn’t think they were as sharp as I thought they would be. I optimised three that I liked and the last one is my favourite. I might submit it as one of my final three images if I don’t do better next time.
*Equipment used
-Canon EOS 6D
-EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM
-Speedlite transmitter and two flashguns
-settings: ISO 100, 1/125, F16 (up to F22 according to the shots)
I got rid of all the dust and wee bubbles or small distractions. I sometimes increased the brightness a little bit but didn’t do that much to them.
I did a bit more work on this last one because sharper and my favourite. Most of the editing was just trying to make it as clean as possible. If I have time to experiment again, I might try and make sure my set up is a bit cleaner before shooting. I also cropped it square as I thought the whole image looked better centered.
