hiked (and biked) today [and got sunburnt on both arms, hands, cheeks because just this once i forwent sunscreen since it was cloudy when we started.... ughh, lesson learned]

There was a hugeass raven sitting near the top of the tower just screaming his head off. He heard him like 15 minutes out and he kept screaming until we arrived at the bottom of his mighty castle. We stood for five minutes before he decided to fly away. Did we follow the bizarre screaming bird? Yes, of course we did. My brother called it a jerk-bird maybe he was up there just screaming insults at people “your hair looks terrible today Susan” and “woah you look almost as good as your attitude Karen”.

And Then Cole Had the Best Day Ever.

Massive self stroke blog post below cut.

So the day started off with recovery from playing on my friends computer until 6:45 in the morning. This required not one, but TWO energy drinks. Feeling awesome.

So the gang all decides that we are going to need a hearty breakfast if we're gonna hike today, so we go to a lovely place in town called Chez Francois. Had two eggs baked in maple syrup on top of ham with extra bacon on the side. Feeling even better!

We drive on in to Banff to visit a good friend who has happened on some very bad luck as of late. And by bad luck, I mean being stranded alone on the side of a mountain for 14 hours with a shattered tibia and fibula, was forced to burn his some of his clothes and backpack in order to keep warm through the night, and has now undergone surgery to fix his damaged leg and rest of body. After a very nice visit where we pretended nothing was wrong, we left. I then showed a side I do not often, that being the side that sobs grossly when people I love are hurt badly. Feeling slightly less awesome.

After deciding that we need to get on a hike to clear our heads, we head off, not before hitting up a gas station and grabbing energy drink number 2...or 3...I lost count (go me). We now begin our journey up the canyon. Feeling tired

So the day begins to come to an end, photos were taken and posted, inukshuks were made, and fun singing times were had. Move on to dinner
