Today we celebrate the first and only officially canonised Saint of Australia! Saint Nikanor Savic of Mount Athos, Australia and New Zealand was the former abbot of Hilandar Monastery on Mount Athos and came to Australia in January 1990 when he was already 88 years old to heal a schism within the Serbian Orthodox Church. Three months later, on March 4, 1990, the Holy Elder reposed in the Lord on Australian soil. Although Saint Paisios of Athos is the first Saint to have stepped foot in Australia, Saint Nikanor is the first officially canonised Saint to have reposed on our land, sanctifying this country. Miracles have been reported about the Elder as he has been seen walking around the monastery of Saint Savas in Elaine, Victoria, bathing the monastery in incense. He has also cured a man of cancer after praying to him, as well as many testimonies of people have been heard saying that his tomb gives of a special warmth. One rare example of a fresco representation of the Holy Trinity, from the Hilandar Monastery (Mount Athos). The current monastery was founded in 1198 when the Roman Emperor Alexios III Angelos (1195-1203) donated the ancient Helandaris monastery "to the Serbs as an eternal gift”. The Hilandar Monastery (Serbian Cyrillic: Манастир Хиландар, romanized: Manastir Hilandar, Greek: Μονή Χιλανδαρίου) was founded in 1198 by Stefan Nemanja (Saint Symeon) and his son Saint Sava. St. Symeon was the former Grand Prince of Serbia (1166-1196) who upon relinquishing his throne took monastic vows and became an ordinary monk. He joined his son Saint Sava who was already in Mount Athos and who later became the first Archbishop of Serbia.”

Kozlac i liječenje raka – šta kažu istraživanja i stručnjaci?

Kozlac, poznat i kao imela (Viscum album), često se spominje kao prirodna pomoć u liječenju raka. No, koliko u tome ima istine?
