On HIMSS14: A Postmortem look
HIMSS14 was a good, if not great experience for our company, allowing us to interact in an active arena with our peers, competitors, and partners in the medical space. Though we opted not to exhibit as HIMSS is an exorbitantly large venue, the MEA|NEA team managed to connect with several key players for meetings and strategic discussions. The general consensus among our team at the event was that we all agree being in the thick of the action, rather than stuck in a booth was definitely advantageous. “I think not exhibiting is the right decision for our company, but I would like to sponsor more events that bring our potential customers together… More things like the presentation [with Boca Raton Regional Hospital]. It was a huge success, and hopefully we can get accepted to speak again next year.”
-Lindy Benton, Chief Executive Officer, MEA|NEA
Overall, the event held a great deal of opportunity, and a greater deal of information, which we took great stock in, with the firmly cemented idea that we should not be competing in the side of the market already saturated with desktop handling, PM software, or practice-to-practice data transfer. Rather, we need to stick to what we do best, Payor-Provider interchange, which is an area we alone dominate, and is deployable from pc, android, and, soon, iOS systems. “Our patent-pending secure mobile capture and storage (FastKapture) is clearly an area of interest among many provider solution vendors.”
-Kent McAllister, Chief Development Officer, MEA|NEA
With the lessons we wore proudly as we walked away from HIMSS, we’ve come to know our market better, and with the changes in the industry brought about by government regulations, MEA|NEA stands poised to not only hit hard in the coming year with information exchange technologies, and advancements in medical communication, but really raise the bar for medical providers and payors at our future conferences.
