During the thanksgiving episode in Season 1, Ted is talking to a stripper towards the end of the episode. When they shake hands, she says her name is Tracy!! After this, Ted jokingly tells his kids “And that’s how I met your mother.” It all makes sense! They were planning to use that name from the beginning and slipped it in there!
