my roommate grew up on nineties alt rock and i asked him to explain the differences between the three. on the angst scale it goes from third eye blind up to three doors down and then to three days grace at the top.

After looking them up, that sounds right to me. Three Days Grace is the one I am least familiar with because their big single came out after I had stopped listening to Chicago's "alternative" radio station.

for real and like, on a scale of 0-10, using a 0 is just absurd, nothing could be that abysmally bad. pitchfork has a habit of being petty which is like the worst thing for someone doing reviews

The only saving grace of their "burn" reviews (ie: anything below a 5 which is KIND OF SKEWED I like when music sets like 50-60 as average/mediocre but for p4k it's at a 7.3~) is that they're usually pretty funny but good god that's not journalism jesus hell.

They're usually exclusively attacks on character too.

They have some good writers but yeah for the most part they're kind of a shitty thing for the indie music scene. That said, I acknowledge their influence as more of a presence than something I LIKE having there, which is why I still want artists I like to do well with them because their influence is important.

Does that make sense?
