11 Questions
I was tagged by the beauteous kate2kat. Her questions:
1. Do you prefer winter or summer. Why? I’ve only experienced winter twice, but summer has been getting progressively harder for me sleepwise. Long story short, I have a very narrow temperature comfort zone, so I would pick either the rainy season or autumn, please and thank you.
2. What is your favourite opening line from fiction? I can't say it's my absolute favorite, because I've never thought about it much, but one that has stayed with me is from the fifth book of the Chronicles of Narnia, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. It goes, "There was a boy called Eustace Clarence Scrubb, and he almost deserved it." I find the line really funny, and I guess I love it because while Eustace never gets a better name (they didn't hold with nicknames beyond nursery school, I gather), he does become a better boy, and his character's progress is a marvel to behold.
3. What is your own favourite talent or skill? I have mad editing skills. I write too, but mostly for work, and have almost never written fiction.
4. What is the best place you’ve ever visited? If you haven’t travelled yet, do you have somewhere you dream of going? I’ve been to Singapore with friends and it was lovely because there was a lot to see and you can go nearly anywhere by bus or the tube. I would travel with a group only if I like them, never mind the destination, but if I want to go somewhere I like (e.g., to the beach or to see some standing stones) I’d rather be on my own or with only one person.
5. Do you cry easily — at books, films, commercials, real life? Are you glad you do? Books and fanfiction make me cry a lot. I don’t mind because that means I read something beautiful but I’m still working on not minding when people make fun of me for crying at movies.
6. Have you ever met or seen at close quarters a famous person? Who? Where? What did you do? It’s customary in my country for local celebrities to be guests at school fairs. When I was 6, I performed onstage for an evening concert with some students (I didn't do much, just pretended to play with a couple of kids). We had candles for the final number of the concert, and I accidentally left mine on a chair backstage because I was really forgetful even then. When I went back to get it, this celebrity had my candle. He was a child actor, maybe about twelve years older? He said he'd give me my candle back if I gave him a kiss on the cheek. The story was funny to me when I was younger, although I don't know if people would still think the same thing now given the whole Stranger Danger mentality. We have a very inclusive definition of family here; family friends and even neighbors automatically become aunts/uncles or cousins, and it isn't at all unusual to be very friendly with small children or to informally babysit for them if you know their parents. He was very nice and didn't make me feel weird (in hindsight he might have if he'd touched me or asked to kiss me, I guess?). Wow, this question's given me a lot of thinky thoughts.
7. Do you have a favourite scent? Can be anything, a perfume or another kind of smell. Bath & Body Works' White Citrus is my regular scent, but when I want something for a special occasion, I like Escada's Moon Sparkle. (I actually need a new bottle, come to think of it.)
8. What is your favourite book series? That's a terrible thing to ask, woman. I have many. If I had to pick one, I would take Diane Duane's Young Wizards series. I love her sciency magic, and that magic is used to help preserve the universe and slow down entropy. Those who are not on errantry (no wizardry in their heart) also help fight the battle against entropy by doing simple things like, making their bed or paying bills on time. (The books also have awesome female characters.)
9. Have you learned something that has made your life easier? Not a skill, but a philosophy or idea. My mom taught me by example to be generous. I really do think that what goes around comes around, and it feels good to help people; that's part of the reason why overall I'm an optimist.
10. What’s the longest friendship you have? Where did you meet? My longest ongoing friendship started in 2001, on my first ever job teaching elementary school. I'm friends with her daughter too.
11. Does your job make you happy (if you have one)? Do you have a dream job? I'm an instructional designer who does the occasional project management. My job makes me happy because I can use my writing skills, my education degree (after a fashion), and it pays enough to keep me comfortable and help me support my family. It also appeals to my compulsion to fix things and do things right.
My Questions:
What’s your biggest goal right now?
What fandom would you like to get your friends into?
Have you ever been friends with your boss?
What is the last skill/ability that you taught yourself?
What is the most common misconception people get about you?
Which do you regret more: things that you’ve done, or things that you’ve never done?
What do you like most about your favorite outfit?
Heels, sandals, flip-flops, boots, or sneaks?
What is your comfort food?
Would you prefer to work with your friends, or befriend your work colleagues?
Do you believe in guilty pleasures?
I would like to tag nyooomu, oneshotrobot, hiomiw, flosculations and kedgeree11, and anyone else who feels up to sharing. Have fun making your questions too!

Always post these rules. Answer the 11 questions set, and think up 11 new questions for 11 people you tag to answer.
What type of area do you live in? (City, rural, suburbs, etc.)
Half the year I live in what I consider to be the middle of nowhere. The other half it’s kind of suburb-y but way more city-like than a lot of other suburbs.
Do you like it? What area would you like to live in and why?
I like where I live half the year. I like to have people around me and I like convenience, so urban centers are more my type of thing. Partly I think it’s my extroversion (I’ve really noticed I need other people’s energy around me) and partly I think it’s my laziness.
Coffee, tea, or something else? With or without milk/sugar/etc.?
Tea, with one sugar if hot (just lemon if iced). I do not drink coffee.
Do you have any creative hobbies or pursuits?
I write! :-)
What was your first fandom (tv show, movie, book) - even if you weren’t in “fandom” as it’s known now? (For example, I followed The X-Files religiously when it came out, but I didn’t know anyone else who was into it.)
“The West Wing.”
In which fandom did you discover fanfic?
Also “The West Wing.”
For a holiday, would you rather explore a city or go to the beach?
City.
Do you enjoy cooking? If so, what’s your favourite dish to make?
I hate cooking. I don’t mind the act itself, but I hate having to clean up afterwards. I much prefer baking, because I prefer dessert generally and so consider the payoff to justify the trouble.
Do you prefer dogs, cats, something else, or no pets? (This is regardless of your current “pet status”.)
Dogs.
Do you separate your laundry or just throw it all in if you know it’s not going to run?
Throw it all in. It’s just me and I don’t own enough clothing to be picky about it mixing.
Do you enjoy adrenaline or does it make you anxious? (Examples: roller-coasters, fast cars, that acceleration before a plane takes off, thrill-seeking activities in general)
Hate adrenaline. I always marvel at people who enjoy it. Adrenaline crashes are miserable to me.
My questions.
1. Black, white, or gray?
2. Tell a funny story.
3. What question do you wish would be asked in job interviews?
4. Favorite font?
5. Favorite play?
6. What book did you have to read for school that you never got what the big deal was?
7. Favorite subject in school?
8. What’s something you’d like to learn about, just for fun?
9. Book you’re reading currently (or last book you read)?
10. What you’re watching currently (or last thing you watched)?
11. Ideal temperature.

Oh my god, you are thinking about my OTP lol What a chemistry is happening in Tumblr!
you can say that mad max: fury road revived the inception fandom. at least that’s what happened to me lol
In reply to hiomiw: Yes! That's what I saw! I ended up having to log in on my computer to find out what the problem was. Still don't know what it is exactly, but for some reason, that post just glitched up the app. I know who's post it was, and I sent her a message about it, lol. I guess tumblr just couldn't handle the Hardyness of Tom Hardy, could it? Lmao!
