My first iPhone was a 3GS, and one of the first apps I fell in love with was @hipstamatic. It was always fun to shoot with, and the retro filter combinations were some of the best. Though I love to edit my photos with #Hipstamatic300, I’ve missed that pure retro analog experience. With the release of #HipstamaticX that retro analog experience returns. Arjan van Der Horst At the beginning of February, 2016, the Hipstamatic community, sadly, said goodbye to one of its most respected members. Born in Amsterdam, Arjan had a keen eye for detail and his passion for street photography was something that I highly respected and, still to this day, heavily influences my photography. I am honoured to have had my work featured alongside Arjan's in various publications and most recently at the 2015 Hipstography Awards. Today, Hipstamatic has released a special black and white film, named Arjan, in his memory. I used this film for the title shot and I hope it captures even some of the passion that Arjan's photography did.
