He’s a good guy. He’s a great player. Who would have thought he was going to be world No 1 again this year after being No 1 for the first time 11 years ago? All the people were saying he is going to be injured, not make it, not going to be healthy at one point, his game is too brutal. But he found a way and he’s had another incredible season with two Grand Slam wins this year. He’s at 19 Grand Slams now. I really enjoyed sharing the court with him at Laver Cup twice. I learned a lot from him, he is a great champion, is great for the game and I’m happy we’ve had the matches and battles that we had, particularly at Wimbledon, French Open, even in Australia. We’ve had some massive matches and he’s going to go down as maybe the greatest players of all time, he’s that good of course.

lemme tell you about my OC ot3!!!

So I don’t talk about my OCs all that much, for various reasons, but I do actually have a fair few whom I love and I was flicking through old fic drabbles yesterday and found one of these 3 so I thought I’d tell you about them!!

Maia:

complex fucking backstory like holy shit

was the oldest child & heir of the royal family

they were murdered in a betrayal but Maia and her younger bro got away (they were both heaps young at the time)

except they ended up being found by slave traders and she grew up a slave in another country

She’s determined af to get her throne back and p much nothing will get in her way

a genius at politics, rhetoric, and tactics of persuasion, she can and will get her way - she has an icey glare that could kill

Very proud and graceful - a lot of ppl defer to her just because of her demeanor

A tad brutal & seems cold at first but that’s only because she trusts next to no-one and just wants to keep herself and her new family safe

actually very cuddly and affectionate and has the cutest giggle

Not defenceless either - was trained to fight with dual daggers in tandem with Zen

Zen:

Maia’s best friend, confidant, bodyguard, and first lover

Later on acts as her spymaster and assassin

Was a slave with Maia until they escaped - she rescued him (he hated her before that)

Finds out who she is and just kind of falls in love even more

They train together and fall in love and then he swears absolute loyalty to her

They trust each other completely and are unwaveringly loyal - he will do whatever she asks without question or hesitation every single time no matter what

he’s a better fighter than her and can also use a sword and a crossbow decently

Sometimes appears a bit stoic and emotionless in contrast to Maia’s temper

But is actually a dork who loves to tease and play pranks and can be a bit lazy and childish

Him and Maia take in the Twins together

He’s bi af and likes sex a lot  (he’s fortunate that Maia matches him in passion and stamina)

Arun:

Comes along much later

His family was loyal to the original Royal Family (Maia’s family) and that hasn’t changed despite the apparent change in rule

They meet him in the capital city when him and his sisters help sneak Maia and her group into the city and support them with food, funds, etc

His lot is a high ranking merchant family who are pretty much the best in the kingdom at what they do - they’re all really skilled at trade and stuff

Arun and Maia become close friends first - he’s not much older and is a good stabilising rock for her, esp when Zen is away working

He’s a very calm person, taking everything in his stride and looking on at Maia’s tantrums and things in fond amusement, rarely reacting to the Twin’s pranks, etc

He’s just a big, gentle giant, honestly - cuz he’s tall and broad and bearded with lots of muscles and looks terrifying but he’s just so damn kind and accepting

Except that like, he totally appreciates (and is maybe kind of attracted to) that Maia is coldly brutal when she has to be - if she beheads someone she probably had a good reason and she’s very impressive and he just kind of rolls with it (look, he’s not flawless, ok?)

Once Maia has her throne back, she needs to marry to stabilise her position

It’s decided that Arun would be the best option since he’s already loyal, they’re friends, and his family’s status (& money) discourages argument, among other reasons

It’s a political marriage but one they both agreed to and they’re close friends so it’s not like it’s loveless or anything

Arun knows about Zen’s relationship with Maia too and gets along with him quite well - Zen appreciates that Arun balances out Maia’s intense personality, and honestly his too (the dude just has this calming effect on everyone) - there’s zero jealousy really (at least, not on Arun’s part, and Zen gets over his)

So Maia and Arun are married

but Zen is still Maia’s lover

Maia and Arun’s relationship develops into one of love build on mutual respect and care

One night Zen is around and Maia invited Arun to join them, which Zen is totally in favour of (look, he would happily get pounded by this dude don’t judge him)

The first time is a bit awkward esp for Arun but he wants to be there and he would probably say at this point that he loves Maia and his feelings for Zan are definitely bordering on that as well (they have a lot to do with each other and are as close of friends and Arun and Maia tbh)

They kind of step back and slow it down again - starting with just all of them sleeping in the same bed and being cuddly

Touching and affection slowly increases until they’re all used to this new dynamic and then the sex starts

Maia and Zen still pair off more regularly that any other combo, but that’s just how it works

Arun doesn’t mind, and sometimes he just enjoys watching or being close and petting someone’s hair without being really involved (not like, he watches and jacks off, he just... watches them have fun, cuz he thinks it’s nice)

Ok look Arun is pretty Ace - he likes sex alright but he’s kind of neutral to it - he’ll be involved if someone wants him to or if he’s having a rare libido spike but otherwise he’s just ‘meh’ - but at the same time he likes being involved in the relationship and bonding and gets sulky if he’s left out of stuff so he just kinda... is involved as far as he’s comfortable

Zen and Maia will accept as much or as little contribution as Arun wants to give - they think he’s such a total sweetheart, if a dork <3

It’s rare that it’s just Arun and Maia, or even rare Arun and Zen, but it does happen - it’s not that both boys are dating Maia, they’re all in it together - and damn Zen knows how to seduce someone to get what he wants.....

Also Zen will often go away for long periods for work and Maia isn’t gonna wait for him when she’s got Arun right there??? (well, if he’s up for it anyway, she doesn’t push it)

The general public don’t know about Zen either, which is why Maia didn’t marry him and say “fuck it” - they can’t, it’s too dangerous to his job

all 3 are really affectionate towards each other in the privacy of their rooms but rarely show it in public

also they’re all dorks and tease each other and laugh a lot <3

none of them are the healthiest people (Maia and Zen esp have so many fucking issues from their traumatic pasts) but at least they’re good for each other
