Deuteronomy 28:9 (ESV) - The LORD will establish you as a people holy to Himself, as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the LORD your God and walk in His ways.
once upon a time, there lived a happy little girl.
one day, that happy girl met a handsome prince. they fell in love.
as their relationship grew, the more the prince would change. he grew cold and manipulative.
until one day, he broke the girls heart.
she then grew to be cold and heartless, just as he made her to be.
and as the prince tried to befriend her again, he found she had changed.
he did not like this change.
"you've changed, my love!" he cried, "and not for the better! where is that sweet happy girl i once knew?"
and she would simply reply "that girl is gone. she will never return."
he did not like this answer
"but she will return! i can fix you! i can help her return!" he begged and begged the girl to let him bring back the girl she once was. she did not let him.
one time, he asked why. this was all she had to say, "you made that girl hurt. you made her cry. i have changed to protect myself from prince's like you. now, no prince will make me hurt. not prince will ever make me cry. never again."
and from that day forward, the prince stopped talking to the girl for she had wounded his pride by calling him out. the girl lived her life as normal, but ever so often, wondered if that charming, narcissistic, prince ever changed his ways.
