Cristina García

Cristina García was born in 1958 in Havana, Cuba. In 1960, García and her parents emigrated to the United States. She is now the author of eight novels. Her novel, Dreaming in Cuban, was a finalist for the National Book Award. García has also won the Whiting Award in Fiction. Her work has been translated into fifteen languages.

So with the increase of Hispanics rising in America (it is said that by 2030 or 2050- don't exactly quote me on this... The Hispanic population will be 50%... Like, yay for me)... I feel as though, me being of Mexican American descent makes me a leverage point for marriage.

(and yes some of it is due to the increase of bussing the illegal immigrants through- but some aren't all Hispanic- remember that! Some of them are coming from other countries! Anyway, the increase was predicted a while ago... Anyway, I'm just blabbering at this point! Don't mine me, I just think I'm being funny. )

"You know, they ought not to be just codified in their communities but make sure that all their kids are learning to speak English, and that they feel comfortable in the communities." 🙄🙄🙄 i'm tired of yts, liberal or conservative, always othering US with their prejudice. U.S. born Latinx already speak English!! just because we retain our Spanish (or other language(s)) and our cultures, traditions doesn't mean we don't! dinosaur needs to stfu.. and anyway if people don't want to learn OR most likely they actually have a shitton of responsibilities and can't squeeze sitting down to learn a complicated language to speak like a native when they can manage at conversational level. OR BETTER YET, why don't Americans learn Spanish, the second most spoken language and the language that predominates the Americas? but anyway we've got technology now, Google translate keeps getting better plus other apps help too, get on with the times.
