What are some of the Victorian Era dresses you can see Claudia P wearing?
Full disclosure: I know Claudia was born in 1830 so most of these dresses should be from the 1850s and 1860s but I’ve always characterized Claudia’s personal style to be more sleek, streamlined, and perhaps even daringly sexy. As a result, half these gowns are from the 1880s and 1890a era, which is just how I personally imagine Claudia’s style to be :)
Honestly, I probably had way too much fun with this xD
And for all you interested in historical fashion I highly, highly recommend you follow Historical Dress’s blog here xxx, it’s a divine haven of silk, lace, and history :)
Now onto the Claudia Phantomhive dresses!
x: this gorgeous cobalt velvet bustle dress, 1880s. (This is also my general interpretation of Claudia’s style.)
x: beautiful emerald velvet day dress with fringed sleeves. 1855.
x: blue cobalt brocade dress, 1850s. (This is absolutely beautiful - rich, bold blue + gleaming bronze + delicate black lace that you really have to lean in to see but it adds a measure of devious charm that I can definitely see Claudia having.)
x: navy silk bustle dress from 1880. I imagine Claudia wearing a lot of lush, bold colors as during the Victorian times they were 1) primarily male colors and 2) only the very rich could afford such deep, vibrant hues.
x: 1850, dark cobalt silk brocade and glazed cambric ribbon. It’s American but I can definitely picture Claudia wearing this.
x: 1880s - gorgeous peacock hued gown.
x: 1881 burgundy silk and satin gown. American.
x: crimson velvet tea gown. 1890s.
x: black velvet mourning gown. 1890s.
x: 1855, casual day dress I can see Claudia wearing when she’s not out on missions.
x: 1890, this impossibly gorgeous red silk gown that is the definition of femme fatale. Probably how she won over Undertaker lmao
x: this is actually something I can see Lizzy or maybe even a young 19 year old Frances wearing.
x: I know this dress is 1850s Hungarian but I can definitely see Lizzy wearing this.
x: the definition of Lizzy as a Victorian dress xD
Thanks for the ask Anon! :)
