When we cook something, do we need to know how it all works? Like how the rice cooker was made? How is the gas used to produce fire? Or how does the electricity convert into heat for us to cook? No, we don’t have to know all those technicalities because we can still experience the privileges even if we don’t understand it.

This situation is a lot like our relationship with God. There are really times or most of the times that we don’t understand His works. We don’t understand why everything happened and we don’t understand His plans but it doesn’t mean that we will stop living. 

God has laid out His plans for our lives in a perfect way— in ways that we don’t understand. We can never fathom His wisdom and we can never think like Him. Just like when Job was asking God ‘why’ and God answered a list of things that Job cannot explain which proves that we can never understand God’s ways and power. 

Furthermore, when God promised to send a Savior, we did not understand it again until the Son of Man came and sacrificed His life. There are really so many times that things we don’t like are happening into our lives and we asked God ‘why’ but we should always remember that we don’t have to completely understand how God works, instead we only need to trust His process and His timing. 

We don’t have to know the reason right away but we can just trust Him and stop worrying. Just like how we don’t understand the degree of His love for us when He died on the cross but still we believe. When He died on the cross, we cannot understand why He died for someone like us but we can trust and hold on to His promise that He loves us so much and that is why He died for us. 

So next time, when something happens unexpectedly and even painful, trust God’s process. Our ways are not His ways (Isaiah 55:8), His wisdom is far more greater than ours and one thing is for sure, everything He has taken from you or everything He is doing is for the good of us who loves Him. 

Trust His process, trust His greatness, trust His plans because God moves in mysterious but loving ways.

He truly provides for us like the birds of the air, if only we will let Him show us how much more He can do for us. It is hard for us to get there because His ways are not our ways

Don’t put God in a box

His ways are not our ways his ways are past finding out. The Pharisees and the Sadducees believe that Jesus was from Galilee, they would not believe in Jesus because no prophet would come from Galilee. The disciples believed the Messiah would restore the kingdom to Israel. They could not understand concept of salvation through faith in Jesus or why he had to die for the sins of the world. And how he would rise again from the dead. For many the humiliation and crucifixion became a stumbling block from which they could not recover. Behold I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense whosoever will fall on him shall be broken and on whomsoever it will fall it will grind them to powder. Put your faith in Jesus and the simplicity of faith will give you salvation

Merry Christmas Hannah! Sorry this Christmas isn’t exactly what we imagined or wanted. But I’m really happy that I got to see you today anyways and serve others with you (: here’s encouragement that God alway knows best for us. That His ways are not our ways, but they are better. Though I’m sad we won’t be able to spend much time together today, I’m excited for the future and for when we are family.
