I know this exchange with the broken payphone is telling us Finn has been receiving calls for years and there's a whole unspoken plot about it. (Maybe he tried to help a few ghosts in the beginning before he couldn't take it anymore. Maybe he's never helped any of them because he doesn't want to think about the first/last time.)

But I noticed as they linger on the phone, there are two very quick frames of the Grabber when it transitions. (I slow it down.)

Not even in place of the phone either but an overlay of him existing at the same time and turning his head towards it.

Personally, I've always had fun thinking it was him calling Finn there, especially after this promotional art. (Same phone, Grabber still holding axe, etc. Feels like two executions of the same vision.)

But in my mind, this transition sorta almost confirms it, right? The Grabber has been trying to call all this time, but it takes a minute to make the connection and speak once the phone is answered. A minute Finn never gives him before hanging up.

Clearly, obviously, the only solution is to trap Finn somewhere with a phone and insistently call until he finally stays on the line long enough to get a word in. The frustration is palpable.

Seriously, how many times has he tried calling over the years?
