something in mutt’s face, slowly, shifts as joowon admits that. not quite a softening, not quite a melting away, but a sidelong slip from the harsher edge of a wolf’s wary snapping toward something that, still watchful, carries with it too a hint of something almost resembling confusion in the furrow of his brow.
that’s not a good thing, he wants to say. it only goes so far as to show in a brief heart’s pulse flicker in his eyes. he could remind him that they’re really nothing alike, that he doesn’t know the full weight behind what he’s saying, but -- everyone’s got their own shit, and it isn’t a competition, and he doesn’t want him to feel less than in his anger, his grief, because he didn’t go through exactly what he has. there are locked rooms inside of everyone.
