I went to the dentist today - just a regular cleaning - I did not like the dental hygienist...

I NEED EVERY DENTAL HYGIENIST TO VALIDATE ME AND TELL ME HOW WELL I BRUSH MY TEETH!!!

I mean sure she was rough and hurt my gums, but the main reason is she didn’t go “whoa, I can tell you floss and brush errryday”

today in “why English, why?”

Whoa, W-H-O-A, is the correct spelling of this word and dates back to at least the 17th century.

What does whoa mean? Whoa comes from the word ho, which first came into Middle English as a command to slow down or draw your horse to a stop. Sometime around the year 1620, the spelling evolved into what we now use today, whoa.

I misspelled it in my writing as woah for the thousandth time so I googled “whoa vs woah” and found that the bastards MADE THE WORD LONGER

why did “English” make the word longer???
