Katie was sprawled out on the couch in the living room, talking on the phone to her mother. She was originally going to go upstairs to talk to her mom, but as she believed there were very few people in the house, she decided to just relax on the couch. “Yes, mom,” she said with a roll of her eyes in response to a silly question her mom was asking. She shook her head a bit. “Okay, okay,” she said. “I love you too. I’ll be home to visit soon; I promise!” She finished her goodbyes and hung up, sighing and stretching out more across the couch. Katie noticed someone else enter the living room and slowly began to sat up. “Oh, hi, I’m.. I’m sorry. I was just... Phonecall. I can move if you want to sit here,” she said, stumbling over her words as she spoke.
