So I like vests, right? I think they're so versatile; I can wear them on top of a blouse or shirt with jeans, I can dress them up for steampunk and the medieval fair.

Recently I got a pre-loved green lace up one and my mind went "That looks really Hobbity", and -

I used to cosplay as a Hobbit. In 2015. Parts of this costume do not exist anymore but I still have the skirt and acceasories and a fitting blouse, so this morning I dug them out, and -

Skirt needs a steam and a petticoat, my leather pouch and my skirt hikes are at my partner's, and I wasn't about to put on my glue-on ears just for a selfie, but - would you go on an adventure with this Hobbit lass?

Recently I've been taking it on myself to redo a bunch of my old artworks just for the heck of it. For example, I just finished this redraw of my favorite hobbit lass out of MANY that I drew back in middle school (2012-2015)! The original is below the cut, but beware, it is INCREDIBLY cringey.

You can see that I gave her leggings and kitten heels (on a HOBBIT??! SERIOUSLY??!!), probably because I was obsessed with wearing them at the time. I also gave her Dorothy's Emerald City hairstyle from The Wizard of Oz because I was obsessed with that as well.

In my heart, there lives a hobbit.

So I started to play Lord of the Rings Online as a stress relief.

My first character was a dwarrow miner named Torvild on the Crickethollow server, but I really had no idea what I was doing.

So I made a cute little Hobbit Ministerial, Lumdinhilda,  on the Laurelin server because I’d been informed it was an RP server. The issue is that I’m honestly too shy to just walk up to someone ( even with the RP tag ) and just . . . start RPing haha ;;

My hobbit lass isn’t likely to leave the Shire anytime soon. There is a lot to see and do ( for me ) and she’s the kind of Hobbit who thinks going to Bree is an Adventure.

She’s singing the ballad of Beren and Luthein, translated loosely into Westron. She loves Elvish love ballads-- though the patrons of the Inns aren’t as big of fans. The Innkeepers routinely tell her off for playing such sad, slow tunes.

“Wouldn’t you rather playing something more cheery, dear?”

Her most hated words!

Anyone up for playing with a newbie? I’ve read a lot of the essays and ‘rough’ guides.

P.S. If you’re wondering where the hair on her feet is, I had meant to color this and just use colored lines to signify her thick curly hobbit foot hair. That . . . didn’t happen.

Throwback to 2015 when I turned into a literal Hobbit. :D

I even had selfmade Hobbit feet, with hair and all, but didn’t wear them outside as they were flimsy, and it did hurt to wear them outside, so I only wore them in the convention hall.

I miss this cosplay so much. I wore it again in 2017, but the wig since died, and I’d love to redo the apron and a new version of the feet. Loved the ears on me though!
