♞ He was born and raised in Chicago, pretty much by a single mother. His father died when Bellamy was young and that was his first heart break. His mother had tried her best. During the summer between middle school and high school, the truth slipped out and it turned out his father had actually died from a drug deal gone wrong. He was apparently mixed in with the wrong people and was in too deep. Growing up, Bellamy had never hated his father for dying considering he was always told it was a freak accident. He never asked more than that, but when the truth came out, his relationship with his mother became strained.
♞ His relationship with his mother mended over the years, and they became a happy family again when his mother remarried. From her second marriage came Bellamy’s little sister (or brother I haven’t decided which yet tbh). Bellamy’s 14 years older and super protective.
♞ After high school, him and his best friend both went on to become Pararescumen (PJ’s). They had practically lived on badass, action packed military movies growing up so what better way than to become like the people they saw on the screens. They, inevitably, went through some shit and his friend got out after 4 years and became a firefighter, Bellamy stayed in because he loved the adrenaline rush. During his off time from deployments, Bellamy helped out as a volunteer firefighter at the station his buddy was working at. The two were practically inseparable.
♞ Bellamy got out after another few years of service (he was 29). He became a full time firefighter and paramedic so he could continue to work with his best friend.
♞ A year into working together, his friend died on the job. There was a high risk fire and his friend went in & got trapped. Bellamy was in there too but in another part of the building. Although he should’ve gotten out, Bellamy stayed in, disobeyed orders, and went to go try and save his friend. He did save his best friend, but they both suffered injuries as the fire and the heat started burning through their gear. Bellamy suffered burns to his upper back and arms. He was put on medical leave for 3 months to not only heal from his injuries but because he disobeyed his commander. His best friend ended up moving out of state shortly after, going to rehab in Georgia, leaving Bellamy all by himself.
♞ After he healed, he started working again and still continues to run his mouth if he doesn’t like an order. (He’s surprised he hasn’t been fired yet honestly.) His nickname is “Reck” due to his reckless nature.

‘‘LIFE ISN’T ALWAYS FAIR. SOMETIMES THE WORLD CAN BE CRUEL, AND THAT’S WHY YOU HAVE TO LEARN TO BE CRUEL YOURSELVES.’‘- Karate Kid ( aka kreese’s iconic line. )
born to single mother raquel mendoza in the lovely city of dallas texas, little eddie grew up loved. sure he didn’t have a father figure in his life, but raquel had three older brother’s who helped her raise eddie.
it was he needed in life. raquel was a doctor-- with all the time she spent at the hospital, eddie’s uncles took shifts in raising him.
life was good, so he thought. the time off his mom had the two spent together and they were practically inseperable. like a dynamic duo type of deal. but his freshman year of highschool would take a turn for the worst, when he found out his mom had breast cancer.
it was hard for eddie not to drop out of highschool right then and there, but his mom kept him going, same with his uncles. even as her health declined, she was still his biggest fan and his biggest motivator. life got harder once the end of freshman year came. sure he’d move on to being a sophomore.. but his mom had lost her battle.
the day raquel mendoza died, eddie died along with her.
for a while eddie hated life. in the custody of one of his uncle’s, eddie became distant-- but still did what his mother wanted him to do. push forward and finish highschool.
there’d be days, eddie would go missing. some days were spent at the cemetery with his mom, other days he’d spend wandering the streets of dallas, texas.
but his uncle respected his privacy, gave him the headspace he needed.. and hey, he was passing school. what more could he do?
final year of high school came, and eddie came to the decision it was time to leave dallas behind. the city was great and all, it still had his relatives.. but it didn’t have his mom. eddie made the leap to join the military. it was a way to travel, way to see the world and escape dallas.
MILITARY CAREER
army life turned out to be something he excelled in. anything they threw his way, he’d top it. one of the things he really enjoyed about the army, it was like another family. it almost made him forget about his own. keyword... almost.
just when he thought his life was going up, it crashed and burned almost immediately.
on one of his deployments, a stakeout went upside down and turned into an ambush, a fight for his life alongside his other soldiers.
when seeing one of his fellow soldiers go down due to him being too close to the explosion, eddie went into overdrive to protect him. the first thought was he still could be alive, no one would be leaving in a body bog.
so eddie threw his body over the wounded soldier, shielding him from the attack but in the process-- eddie got hurt as well.
it was nothing compared to what his fellow soldier went through. the scene played over in his mind constantly, and while he was recovering both physically and mentally-- eddie didn’t leave the other soldier’s bedside till he was practically forced to. when the army discharged him and sent him back home.
JOURNEY BACK HOME
not once did he want to admit it, but deep down he was glad to be back in dallas.. being instantly welcomed back by his relatives, eddie finished the mental part of his recovery back home.
it was.. a work in process though. eddie struggled with looking over his shoulder constantly, jumping at any loud noises, and going days without sleeping, feeling like the enemy could attack any moment.
he came to the realization he needed the help when something had set him off, and the first instinct was putting his uncle in a rear naked choke-hold. other relatives had to practically pry eddie off and help him back to reality. they were silent, but worried for eddie’s safety.
they encouraged him to get the help he needed. so eddie spent most of his time down at the VA in Dallas, getting the help he needed.
while he was getting the help he needed, he also started working toward his next career choice: becoming a cop.
once he knew he was getting better, eddie put his foot forward -- determined to excel in this next career / chapter of his life. and it was safe to say, becoming a cop became the best choice for him.
but his training in the academy was put on hold when the intelligence unit in the dallas pd pulled him for an undercover stint he excelled so well in. so they made him a permanent member of the intelligence unit.
PRESENT
all good things must come to an end though, right? eddie didn’t want to stick around dallas long enough to get attached again, so he settled for a little something further away. putting his transfer papers in, eddie set his sights on the windy city for this chapter in life. he’s already been here two years, a prominent detective alongside his partner: sawyer woods.
most of the time.. actually no all of the time, you’ll catch him wearing his signature sunglasses. it’s rare he takes them off, extremely rare. it’s like he judges silently behind the shades. when he’s frustrated, the spanish kicks in and he won’t bother to say much of anything else. literally his routine is: work, gym, home, sleep. even on his days off he spends it working.

( FLORENCE PUGH. SHE/HER. FEMALE ) Did I just see (GENEVIEVE REYNOLDS)? This (TWENTY FOUR) year old (BARISTA/WAITRESS) has been living in Chicago for (TWO MONTHS). Some say that they are (WITTY & ADVENTUROUS) as well as (UNRELIABLE & MISCHIEVOUS). If they had a theme song, some might say that it would be (COULD HAVE BEEN ME BY THE STRUTS). All I know is that I can’t wait to see what they bring to the Windy City. - (karly/22/est/ she/her /none)
Hey hi!! A brief bio for Genevieve is below the cut! She’s rather new to the city so she could use all of the connections :)
When you’re an only child and your parents come from money, you quite literally get anything you ask for...except maybe your parents love.
The Reynolds were an affluent family in England. Both her maternal and paternal grandparents were entrepreneurs and successful business people and that drive was passed down to her parents. It supposedly skipped her.
Because she was given anything she wanted, she became accustomed to the lifestyle. Why care about wanting your parents attention when they bought you a brand new pony to occupy your time? Due to lack of supervision, Genevieve also was rather rebellious - staying out late, drinking too much... it was all so easy to get away with when nobody bothered to keep tabs. It was rinse and repeat until it wasn’t... The first guy she ever liked wasn’t from a rich family like hers and, while they didn’t work out, he helped open her eyes to just how jaded she had been.
After awhile, she resented her parents, her lifestyle, her upbringing - everything. She spiraled trying to search for meaning in her life and eventually this lead to her leaving her family all together. She left behind the money and the fortunes and started working for her own money. She didn’t want to be associated with anything from her upbringing.
Genevieve came to the US when she was 22, first moving to Springfield, Illinois. She got a job as a waitress to make ends meet. At first she struggled because she hardly worked a day in her life, but she kept telling herself it was for the best. As of two months ago, she moved to Chicago, hoping that moving into the Windy City would help her discover herself.
Did I just see FAITH “ FAYE ” SCOTT ? This TWENTY THREE year old MODEL has been living in Chicago for TEN YEARS . Some say that they are CLEVER AND WITTY as well as IMPULSIVE AND BLUNT . background
irony surrounds this girl, beginning the very moment she was born and her mother decided that faith would be her name. faith for her relationship with her husband, faith for the wellbeing of their once existing love and faith for the rest of the family. too much weight to rest on the shoulders of a child, if you ask me.
faith scott was once kind, as a child should be. she was welcoming and perhaps even bubbly. it was short lived, for even her name could not save the hatred that had settled between her parents. jane and carson had once loved each other, at least, she liked to think they had. but there was, indeed, a thin love between love and hate. the scotts had passed that line and when one does that - there is no coming back. a lesson the couple learned the hard way, or… she assumes they did.
they were not a wealthy family for the mere fact that the grey family hated carson scott and disapproved of him the very moment he stepped foot on their driveway to pick up a 16 year old jane for their first date. and while the scott family thought jane to be a nice girl… they, also, disapproved of them dating. with good reason, faith would come to find. at eighteen, they had faith and a couple months prior - the teen couple eloped. carson did not attend college, instead, he took on three jobs - two part times and a weekend job to help support jane and their daughter while jane continued her studies. somewhere along the lines, carson scott lost himself to a world much too dark for either girls to understand. he quit his three jobs and instead, would move to sell drugs for a higher up who answered to a much more dangerous “ higher up. ” but carson scott knew no limits and his once hardworking mindset changed to one of easy way outs and theft.
he stole from his higher up which in turn was left with not enough budget to report to the boss and… when faith was just barely seven years old, her mother passed away and her father was taken into custody. it couldn’t have been him, though, for he was chatting with her faith’s kindergarten teacher during the moment of her mother’s accident. the brakes of her father’s car had been tampered with, except, it had been her mother that had taken his car.
carson was charged with possession and selling of drugs along with a surprising charge of assault and battery of a boy and his supposed witness of a girlfriend. thus, with no mother or father to take care of the innocent little girl - she was sent to a foster home in chicago where she would spend every other week or occasional month if the foster family she was placed into was decent enough. here, she met james elroy - another kid with no place to go.
life had been cruel to the two but somehow, faith scott remained kind. she was doing well in school and had even joined the cheerleading team, somewhere along the lines of high school. james and her would move on to date, not yet willing to give up the faith she had in love.
eventually, he graduated and they would move on to reconnect during college. she was not close to penny, james’ true love, but she did know of her and perhaps even had seen her a couple of times.
she majored in photography with a minor in art because, as she was growing up entirely surrounded by chaos - faith developed a love for art. she was even talented and often spent her time filling blank canvases with color. eventually, james and faith got married and while he was deployed, the young girl was recruited for modeling.
it was not that faith was blind to whatever it was her husband felt for penelope but… more so the fact that he was very well the first person to actually show some kind of love towards her. granted, not the one she deserves, but the one she believed was all she was to have.
somewhere along the lines of james’ accident, faith decided that she deserved better than a half-assed love and he deserved better than a girl he wasn’t in love with. plus… my girl does not do well with change. she does not like change, she does not adapt well nor does she react well to it so… with his accident, things were bound to change. she filed for divorce while he was in the icu, no explanation - no goodbyes. not long after, faith scott lost herself, just as her father had. she built a name for herself in the modeling industry, posing in pictures and walking runways but when the curtains closed… all she had was herself and to be honest, she hated herself.
that’s when she got a little too deep into the claws of the dark side of the limelight. substance abuse, she’d wake up hungover more times than not and for a while, faith could not remember what it was like to be sober. not that she minded because the high made her thoughts silent and that meant, she didn’t hate herself as much anymore.
currently, she’s still a wild child but very… bitchy. she’s kinda mean and stoic, sarcastic and extremely blunt because she genuinely does not care for the emotions of anyone other than herself. life had been cruel and she did not owe anything to anybody.
she toughened up but… no one had ever taught her that there was strength in kindness. so, faith found strength in distrust. she found strength in her sharp edges and honestly - she does not believe in love or any of that hopeless romantic stuff.
basically, she has a lot of room for character development.

CATO ALEXANDER MICHAEL BRIGGS
born to a katherine briggs former trackstar olympian and annapolis graduate sam briggs ( a lieutenant in the navy ) cato grew up the apple of their eye.
their life was a constant on the go, with his dad being in the military and having to uproot for a new duty station anytime he got one.
life was good, life kept him busy-- till it came to a screeching halt.
a new town should be a good start in life, but the news came that his dad had passed away while he was overseas. a life that was 24/7 on the go, soon became.. nothing.
while katherine buried herself in her work and grieved occasionally with her son, cato distanced himself-- but kept his head down and pushed through it.
karate became the sport for him at a young age, but it soon moved from karate to wrestling-- from wrestling to full on mma so early. it was safe to say once he got into highschool, he was in great shape to keep up with his peers in any high school sport he enrolled in.
but the sports wouldn’t mean much to him, sure the skill was useful and all.. but it wasn’t a career path he didn’t go down. fastforward to eighteen years old, a fresh out of high school graduate.. cato ended up enlisting in the NAVY. taking a similiar path as his father.
MILITARY LIFE
the navy turned out to be a pretty successful career for him. sure there were some bad deployments, many ups and downs in the path-- but he pushed through it. overcame those obstacles.
he served six years in the navy, earned a successful discharge. but adjusting to life outside of the navy became a little hard.
all that he buried down, surfaced again and he found it hard to escape the life he was trying to leave behind.
NOW
so he’s settled into a career field of being a bounty hunter, bringing criminals in for.. well you know the bounty. but is currently trying to work toward a more steady career field, trying to pursue a career in the tactical unit at the chicago police department. he’s been in chicago for six months already, originally in town for some work. you can usually catch him in the corner, face in a book or just in his computer.
spends most of his time by himself because tbh, social interactions sometimes exhaust him-- but he’s working to try and beat that. he isn’t social, but will fcking tackle someone trying to escape him and do nothing but be an asshole with anything that comes out of his mouth. it’s like he’s got two sides to him at times.
he’s a smartass, he’s got a short fuse-- and doesn’t like anyone outside his circle, it’ll.. literally take him some time to warm up. tis all i have at the moment.
(SHELLEY HENNIG. SHE/HER. CIS-FEMALE. ) Did I just see (BROOKLYN “BRIDGE” FERRO)? This ( TWENTY-NINE ) year old ( SALES REPRESENTATIVE ) has been living in Chicago for ( ELEVEN YEARS ). Some say that they are ( DRIVEN and BOLD ) as well as (HYPOCRITICAL and TENSE). If they had a theme song, some might say that it would be ( 21 by SAMIA ). All I know is that I can’t wait to see what they bring to the Windy City. - (jess/24/aest/she/her) **filling in the hoodie twin sister connection / @hocstarters
full name: brooklyn ferro
nicknames: bridge, brooke,
age: twenty-nine
gender: cis-female
birthplace: east st. louis, illinois
current location: chicago
languages: english
sexual orientation: pansexual
relationship status: single
traits: outgoing, sarcastic, intelligent, competitive, brash, impulsive, stressed, artificial,
twin sister to @hoodiefm born and raised in East St.Louis by their aunt and uncle. also has a stupid nickname!! Bridge, which she’s grown out of but can’t get people to stop
she was pretty angry the whole time growing up, at their mum for not being around, and their dad for not giving a fuck. but she is very very grateful for her aunt and uncle, even if both her and her twin brother caused them grief over the years (and still probably do)
less restless than Hoodie, still impulsive, more reactive than anything - Hoodie set her hair on fire when they were seven, so Bridge retaliated by chucking his Gameboy in the washing machine 🤷
kind of a mess™ but in a way that she’s trying really, really, hard to make it in the ‘real world’ and not become like their mum. probably to the point where she ignores the bits of her mother that she Does have, & sort of lost sight of who she is/who she wants to be
Her resentment turned into drive, which turned into Bridge working her ass off, and getting into the University of Illinois on a scholarship, with the only goal to get the fuck out of East St. Louis. She found succeeding in college a lot harder than others who were supported by their parents, mostly from balancing studies, college life, working and having to pay for everything. She simultaneously resented those who had the money behind them, and wanted to be them as well. So she went into business, currently doing sales and working her way into a management position, rubbing shoulders with the very people her and her brother used to laugh at as kids
she does love the thrill of the sale though, and riling up her team members to hit their KPIs. a ferro though and through, it’s her own brand of an adrenaline-kick
Bridge got really close, to living that ideal life when she met Sam Caine, close enough for them to get engaged. However insecurity, abandonment and trust issues (thanks to her parents) convinced her he was hiding something which lead to her pushing him away and Sam calling off the engagement ( her instinct was right and he had a secret kid)
gives back just as good as she gets with her brother, they argue a LOT about nothing and everything. nobody gets under her skin like him, but he’s the most important person in her life. 1000% worries about what she’d do if he wasn’t around, knows she probably couldn’t make it without him, and has always been jealous of his ability to do whatever he wanted
lowkey on edge, all the time? mostly just from the pressure she puts on herself and the desire to solve all her family’s problems at once even though nobody asked/expects her to. it’s getting worse with their Aunt being sick, the hospital bills racking up, all while Brooklyn tries to climb the corporate ladder despite her brother’s judgements
vibe --- fake!bougie street rat / champagne dreams on a beer budget / kinda like that episode of the Simpsons where Marge goes to the country club but only wears the one dress / the season of Shameless where Fiona gets into investing / upward swings & crashing down

full name: Edgar Eugene Ramos Mendoza
date of birth / age: march 3rd 1991/thirty
gender: cis-male
languages: english, spanish
sexual orientation: Pansexual
relationship status: Single
TW: drug use, death,
Growing up, Edgar was one of those kids who had potential. His parents kept pushing him to try harder, to think about what he could be if he just applied himself a little more, but honestly Edgar didn’t have the enthusiasm for his academics. He would rather sit in the band room geeking out than studying. Being the family disappointment only continued when he refused to go to University and helped out at his Grandfather’s store instead.
The record store/second-hand bookshop was a family-owned business, and Edgar’s second home. Ed grew up making music, helping people with their instruments, giving album recommendations and learning the ropes from his Gramps. His dad, however, had no interest in running the store. - preferring money and the more practical side of life. When Edgar’s grandfather passed away his dad, Emilio, wanted to sell his father’s livelihood. However, for the first time in his life, Edgar cared enough to fight for the tiny shop, and convinced his father to let him run it all on his own. Ed is now determined to prove that he’s not a failure, to prove his father wrong. He’s currently in the process of opening up the store to open mic nights and small gigs.
The only time he really speaks to his father, is for holidays or business. Being such a private person to begin with, this rift with his dad didn’t help. His parents were barely aware of Ed’s ex-relationships, or interests beyond the store, a whole secret life they weren’t interested in. The only member of his immediate family that Edgar still kept in contact with is his sibling, and more recently, his mother.
Unfailingly generous, a lil bit dumb, huge himbo-energy, Ed’s the kind of guy where if you’re his friend, you have a friend for life. He smokes too much, falls in “love” too much, and has never made a concrete decision in his life, but he’s truly trying his best ✌️
wc: give him a best friend fuck me up!!! smoking buds, childhood friends, fwbs, exes - messy/ good/not quite done, fellow musos, ppl who perform at his store, cousins, his sister (pls), camping friends, complicated friendships, crushes, people he worries about/people who worry about him, a good Found Family trope, idek anything and everything
( KAYLEE BRYANT. SHE/HER/HERS. CIS FEMALE ) Did I just see ( OLIVIA EVANS )? This ( TWENTY-ONE ) year old ( CHEF ) has been living in Chicago for ( TWELVE YEARS ). Some say that they are ( FRIENDLY & HARD-WORKING ) as well as ( QUICK-TEMPERED & RESENTFUL ). If they had a theme song, some might say that it would be ( SUPERBOY AND THE INVISIBLE GIRL from NEXT TO NORMAL ). All I know is that I can’t wait to see what they bring to the Windy City.
@hocstarters
Olivia Evans may be the spitting image of her mother, but they share no blood relation. Liv was adopted by her parents at the age of two. It wasn’t something that was brought up often or that she ever cared to look into. As far as she’s concerned, her adoptive parents are her parents.
She took longer than most kids to speak and, even when she did start, she wasn’t as talkative. She enjoyed being left alone with her toys, humming quietly to herself. Her parents got her a speech therapist and took her to specialists but none of it helped.
In preschool, it became hard for Olivia to make friends. Other kids intimidated her and she liked her space. It took her time to bond enough with people to open up to them, but eventually she did.
By the time high school came around, she had gotten out of her shell a little bit. She even made some friends and found someone in particular that she liked as more than a friend.
She’d always been interested in both boys and girls, that much was clear to her, but it wasn’t something she would ever publicly say or even privately to her family. They were conservative people and every time Liv even considered telling them, she’d overhear them say something that made her change her mind.
The girl she was in love with asked her to Senior prom and Liv said yes in the spur of the moment, but as word got out that one of the girls was taking another girl to prom, the PTA protested-- her parents were outraged by the idea.
She let the girl take all the heat that came with the rumor and picked up her own pitchforks and torches to join in with the mob, it was better than being on the receiving end of so much hate.
She became closed off again after the prom incident and focused on getting into culinary school as it had always been her plan.
She moved out of her parents home to attend school and that’s when she truly found herself. She partied, dated girls and boys, stayed out late and did whatever the fuck she wanted. She shed the skin that her parents had carefully tailored for her and let her authentic self breathe.
She recently started working under one of her idols as a sous chef and the plan is to take over the restaurant eventually. She feels accomplished and free, except when her parents stop by and she has to pretend to be a good Christian girl again.
