Running the San Jose's tiktok was a great pleasure. I mean, you had fully controlled over content and the boys had no other option but to agree with some of your antics and crazy questions. Like the time you asked them what order they put their socks and shoes on, they thought it was crazy but answered anyway.
The biggest viewer grab was anytime you put Macklin and will together. People lived for their dynamic and loved the way they displayed a real friendship to the world. To them, you were like a plus one to their actions. Anytime they did something funny or pulled a prank on another teammate, there you were, recording the whole thing while practically dying.
Now imagine the possible reactions that filtered through your mind when a follow had dm'd you a viral video of asking hockey players how long it would take you to get up if they checked you into the boards.
You had a friend record as you held your little mic, interviewing the players in the locker room. Your first culprit was Ryan Reaves, a tougher guy who was quite active when it came to fighting. "Hi, Ryan." You greeted, holding the mic out. "How long would it take me to get up if you checked me into the boards?"
Ryan chuckled at your question, clearly knowing that he was a stronger player physically. "If I was doin' it, maybe five minutes." He responded, shaking his head. "But like, the rooks would go easy."
"You think?" You asked, smiling as he walked away. You made your way through the majority of the locker room. A lot of the rookies giving you similar answers, like two minutes or longer if they really tried.
"Will, how long would it take me to get up if you checked me into the boards?" You asked number 2.
Will grinned up at you, putting his hand to his mouth to hide his laugh. "Like, I would give you full experience, maybe a minute." He answered and you burst out laughing, caught off guard by his hyped up answer just to give you something so bleak.
"Only a minute?" You repeat, shaking your head. "That's the full experience?"
"I mean, I'm not a strong guy. Reaves might have you, but like Mackers and me, nah." He confessed as your friend stopped recording. "Have you asked him yet?"
You shook your head. "He's my last one." You told him as Will chuckled under his breath.
"My guy gonna say some corny ass shit." He declared, taking off his padding.
It was no secret that the internet fully believed Macklin had a huge crush on you. He was soft-spoken around you and always a little more shyer than normal.
You walked along the dark cyan carpet of the dressing room and stopped in front of Macklin. He still had his gear on and was leaned back against the wall, still sweaty from practice.
"Hey, Mack." You greeted with a soft smile.
A smile instantly reached Macklin's lips as he locked eyes with you. "Hey, y/n." He replied, brushing his hair back.
"Okay, how long do you think it would take me to get up if you checked me into the boards?" You asked, containing your laughter as the tips of Macklin's ears burned red.
"Why would I check you into the boards?" He asked, completely deflecting.
"hypothetical." You answered.
"Uh, I wouldn't hit you." He said, feeling his cheeks burn as he smiles nervously.
Behind the screen and you, Will's voice echoes as 'oohs' fill the locker room, making Mack ten times more embarrassed. You giggle, urging the boy to answer. "You gotta give me something."
You can see Macklin genuinely think about it before giving you a terrible answer. "Like thirty seconds." He said.
"Is that you trying?" You asked, raising an eyebrow at him.
"Definitly." He nods as Will jumps into the screen and makes a cutting sign with hand.
Will takes the phone from your friend and points it towards you and Mack. "y/n, if you checked Mack into the board, how long are you aiming for him to be down for?" He asked you as you took a seat beside Mack.
You looked at the boy beside you, feeling a blush rise to your cheeks as you tried to hide it with your hands. "Umm, oh my God, I don't know. I can't even skate." You tried to retreat, but Will wasn't having it.
"Gotta give the people something." Will declared.
Your eyes tracked Macklin's physique, really trying to think about if you could even knock him over with enough strength. "Um, right now I'm feeling that he'd barley falter if I hit him." You said, making both boys laugh.
"Ah, okay, maybe two minutes, but I'm probably going down with him." You said in between laughs and shaking your head. "Like, I'd have to go dead weight or something."
Macklin laughed as you pushed his arm lightly. "Yo, she's already getting physical!" He shouted, feeling a sense of warmth when he saw you laugh at his joke.
Will stopped recording at that moment and without even checking the edit like you would, he posted the video with no hesitation and you didn't even realize until you got a text an hour later.
