The name of the animation came about cuz Vicky's government name is Yuri. He's of Russian-Japanese descent. In Japanese, Yuri means lily! And of course, who doesn't love the yuri genre?!
"Seeds" is the second part of the name, cuz I love the androgyny of flowers. Lilies in particular have both "male" and "female" reproductive organs, and I love some fun genderfuckery with my characters.
I think most people who saw Lily Seeds (or I guess saw me drawing my characters during class?) IRL assumed that my characters were both "girls" cuz they have long hair and purdy eyelashes. snapped back at a substitute teacher who was trying to tell me how to animate based on assuming my characters were girls LOL.
They're not wrong, but only half right!
