Wed get through this stupid forest ten times faster if Logan didn't catch everything he sees B|
I tend to forget Aiko was "battle-bred" sometimes.. Apparently she can use Extrasensory..
You have a lot of potential. You just need dedication.
Potential, potential, potential.
She was sick of that word. Completely and absolutely sick of it. She was tired of hearing it. Why did people insist on saying it? Words like that don't mean anything if you don't back them up. If you don't have the dedication nothing will happen. And she never backed them up. She didn't have the same dedication others had.
Cherise sat in a bench near the road to Rustboro. She just wanted someplace quiet, and she had found it on Route 104. She felt pathetic. The red head rolled her new badge around the palm of her hands, she was supposed to be happy, wasn't she?
She had been happy when Tarin, to much of her surprise, actually listened to her orders in battle. The look of surprise on Roxanne's face had brought a confident grin unto hers. But the words that followed afterwards reminded her too much of someone else. She knew the Gym Leader didn't mean to put pressure on her, but that's what it felt like.
And now she felt like there was an extra weight on her shoulders. Reaching into her pocket, Cherise pulled out the shiny new PokeBall Roxanne had given her. She had tried to refuse it. She didn't need it. Tarin and Bungie had proved it. But the Gym Leader didn't take no for an answer, upon hearing the soft snickers from Midna in her head, the trainer didn't have to wonder where she got the idea.
"Well," the red head sighed, pushing the release button and staring at her new Pokemon, yet another Pokemon she had no idea what to do with, "Guess you need a name. Hmm.."
Soooo... We took on the Rustboro Gym today. Tarin slayed everything, Bungie didn't get much of a turn. He's kinda upset by that.
But uh.. Roxanne wants to talk to me before giving me the badge... Yeeeaaaa..
Me: Oh shit...
Logan: What?
Me: Cherise is going to have so much trouble.. I'm not gonna tell you. I'll just lead you to the conclusion I just reached.
Logan: Okaaaay?
Me: What does Cherise train?
Logan: ..poison types?
Me: What does the Champion of Hoenn use?
Logan: Steeel type-oooooh...
Cherise had turned her sights back on the path, frowning as she noticed Bungie poking at something in a bush with his pincers, Aiko crouched nearby as she watched him.
"What are you doing-"
A loud shrill interrupted the silence as a brown and green Pokemon burst out of the bushes, headbutting the poison type while covered in a cloud of strange looking spores. The fox barked in response as the Skorupi flipped itself over to face the new arrival.
Cherise's green eyes glinted in realization, sprinting to grab unto the Vulpix' collar before she came into contact with the spores, "Poison Powder. Bungie! Poison Jab!" The Poison type responded quickly, without any other command, striking at the Shroomish. The small Grass type met the attack halfway with Drain Punch, forcing Bungie to roll back up to Cherise's feet.
"Huh.." The red head stared at the Pokémon before her, quickly going through the things she knew about it in her head, "Drain Punch isn't exactly common on wild ones.." Bungie might've been one of her youngest team members, but he was battle bred and not many pokemon in his range could whit stand his attacks.
Cherise chewed on the inside of her cheek before taking a step away, "Let's go Bungie, leave that one be, I wanna get to Rustboro before-OW!" She flinched as something hard fell unto her head. A Pokeball bounced near her feet and the red head found herself looking up only out of habit, just in time to see her Gengar dissipate from view.
"I don't know Midna.." Cherise sighed as she made her way through Petalburg Woods. She had agreed to at least give the first gym a shot, and she would. But she wasn't entirely sure how. Her eyes were fixed on Aiko and Bungie, her youngest Pokemon, who walked on ahead. The Gengar floated behind her silently so she continued. "I can't use you guys. We knew that before we headed here but.." She shrugged, "Sending them out? Aiko shouldn't even battle at all and is Bungie actually capable for something like this? maybe that Leon guy from the dash was right.. Say something will you? I need advice!" The red head had turned to face the ghost type, finding that she wasn't even there anymore and heaved a long sigh. She hated when Midna did things like that, the ghost was still around somewhere out of sight, she could still sense her presence. Oh well. Best to just keep going.
