Dorcas Meadowes, the wild warrior ` teaser for upcoming fanfiction, ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’

Dorcas Meadowes, at first glance is a brick wall that no one can tear down or move, she’s indestructible. But she’s not. She’s broken. Or she’s fixed. She doesn’t know. And she doesn’t want anyone to know. Dorcas with her big eyes and cheeky smile, who people know not to mess with. She’s a mystery. She’s a mess of gorgeous chaos and if you look you can see it in her eyes.

Personality:

Dorcas had a tough upbringing and knows what it’s like to not be valued but pushes limits for herself.

People who don’t know her think she’s scary but those she lets in her tight circle of friends think she’s tough, straightforward, adorable, clever and knows how to have fun.

She always knows what to say whether it’s under pressure, with her friends, in tough situations or to make someone sod off.

Dorcas doesn’t know what it’s like to feel completely safe.

Dorcas Meadowes who infamously battled four Slytherinsinglehandedly after Mulciber attacked Mary MacDonald because she was muggleborn, even though she’s one herself. From then on, people knew she was a force to be reckoned with, and that’d she’s not afraid to fight for the people she cares about.

Dorcas who although has a tough layer, underneath it all, she’ll surprise you

Relationships:

Marlene McKinnon, Lily Evans: To Dorcas, they feel like home, her best friends in the whole world, also known as the ‘Gryffingals’ (alongside roommates Mary MacDonald and Florence Spinnet). She’s a lot closer to Marlene as for their first five years at school Lily was usually with Snape but if you’re looking for Dorcas your best bet is to look for Marlene or Lily. Nights in the dormitory are usually spent dancing to The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac and Queen or all on top of Dorcas’ bed talking till late and Dorcas loves it. They give her hope, love and she feels that they fit her perfectly like a glass slipper.They’re her anchor, they give her meaning to surviving.

The Marauders: As Marlene was her best friend and they were in the same year and house, Dorcas was not alien to hanging out with Marauders; though she had a different relationship with each. Her and James got along well and could always share a laugh, both reigning kings of exploding snap. He and Sirius would always ask Dorcas about Muggle things whether it be music, inventions, people, Dorcas was their go to and she found their fascination amusing. Her and Sirius would banter a lot with one another and to many it would seem like they didn’t get along. When he was being too chaotic she was never afraid to tell him to shut the hell up. Remus was always a bit distant of Dorcas as he knew she wasn’t afraid to give it to you straight. Dorcas and Remus, at first, fought a lot and just couldn’t seem to get along for silly little reasons. Everyone took bets on when they were going to snog. Peter being half-blood knew of some of her favourite muggle things and when things were being too chaotic Peter was good at slowing things down.

The Slytherins: Slytherins bewared Dorcas Meadowes after she notoriusly single-handedly duelled  Mulciber, Avery, Rosier and Wilkes singlehandedly after Mulciber attacked Mary MacDonald. She couldn’t stand the lot of them and was never afraid to give them a piece of her mind. Especially Snape.

Likes/Dislikes

Likes: reading, painting, kung fu, different flavours of tea, dancing, strong will, firewhiskey, care of magical creatures, being around her good friends, the lake

Dislikes: prejudice, bullying, sexism, chatterboxes, being underestimated, conformity for the sake of conformity, gossip

the head boy in my final year of school was this messy-dark-haired boy with glasses who was really charismatic and clever but also hella rebellious getting arrested at our end-of-year party for mouthing off to a copper and he dated the head girl who had dark red hair omg did i go to hogwarts

It just dawned on me that the Marauders are first mentioned in Prisoner of Azkaban in the order "Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs". This just happens to be the reverse of the order in which they die - James first, then fourteen years later Sirius, then two years later Peter at Malfoy Manor, then a few weeks later Remus during the final battle. 

I've read this one before and thought about it immensely. It just hurts so much. #sigh

I also posit that it's the order they successfully transformed in. Moony first because he's been the werewolf, then Peter, Sirius, then James. And it may seem off that Peter get to transform first, but I say it not because of ability, but because of size. Peter, being the smallest, would've had an easier time becoming his animagus. Then Sirius as the big dog, then James as a large stag with large antlers. We learn throughout transfiguration class that it's easier to transform a smaller object into another object and then they increase in size as the grades go on.
