Second one we thought we would try was China.
Known for the Great Wall, Peking duck, the Terra Cotta Army and mountains.
Some basic etiquette includes serving people before yourself to be a good host. Don't talk with your mouth full and don't point with chop sticks.
China is so large it has regional dishes. You can find the same dish across the country but different variations. So be careful when ordering. What you know as "chinese food" in our western restaurants is not all real chinese food. So you might think you know a lot about it but you actually know very little.
Stir fry originated there. They mastered it to cook quick and preserve fuel. It sears meat quickly to keep in the juices and veggies become bright and crunchy fast. So we did a little stir fry ourselves.
Ground beef with bok choy and seasonings. On top of rice and green onion on top.
Used the BBQ to grill our Hoison sauced chicken. Our brussel sprouts only had a couple days left in them so I threw some of those on.
This was my favourite one so far. Definitely would repeat it all.
Not pictured is chia seed pudding with fresh fruit.
