absolutely devastated after finishing Tokyo Babylon

I read X beforehand because I'm a dumbass, and went through the whole River Song ordeal of loving Hokuto backwards

and I loved her A LOT

like, so much, she was witty, loving, funny, a fashion icon, a diva, I loved loved loved loooved her

but now I'm mad at her, why couldn't love Subaru they way he was? Why he needed to be fixed, perfected, changed?

So what he can't tell his own feelings apart? So what he is hype-empathetic, hyper-focused , has a melancholic disposition and suicidal ideation? I agree all those characteristics are worrying when you love him and want him safe, BUT you give him an autistic ID and earmuffs you do not encourage him to date a veterinarian almost a decade his senior when he's just a child

and then she died and left him alone to be tortured by that man

Hokuto, how dare you????
