REMINDER TO PEOPLE HANDMAKING HOLIDAY GIFTS
IF YOU HAVEN’T STARTED ALREADY
START NOW RATHER THAN LATER
Monday before Thanksgiving
"Clear the Decks!"
Get laundry done.
Order the last few grocery items.
Deal with any chores that are better NOT put off until tomorrow or Wednesday.
Doublecheck my list. Move a few things around.
Spreadsheets are my friend. Spreadsheets are my friend!
Have you eaten, Talvin? You are working with food and groceries and making lunch for your wife to eat when she comes down from teleworking but have you, yourself, remembered to eat something?
Take a couple minutes to pet the cat.
Recognize which things you feel impelled to do can actually wait until after the holiday.
Breathe.
It will all come together in the end.
How is your holiday preparations and gift buying going? I’m definitely not ready! 😅 I created this fun “which one are you” series and I’d love to know which one you are. 🤭
Tea robot lofi kinda evening. Thanks for hanging out with me! 🍵🤖🎧

QUEUE THE LIVE REACTIONS
Bodies of the people, all of them, men, women, and children, lay drained of blood and petrified with fear throughout the village. Killed and tossed aside. Left to rot on the soil they once called home. Our friends and families, people we spent our lives with.
Cusp Of The Mend | Ch. 2 ~ Pg. 23
i blame the parents
There, in the middle of the small village, my sister’s head lying far away from her body
Cusp Of The Mend | Ch. 2 ~ Pg. 24
NOOOOOOOOO. WHYYY
Ra’jem welcomed the endless void of death.
Cusp Of The Mend | Ch. 2 ~ Pg. 24
she lived. she died. she became a vampire. she died again. rip bbg
But two humans do step into the center, not seeing me crouched next to my sister while the two of them, sobs shaking their small frames, gather up the bodies of their families and friends.
Cusp Of The Mend | Ch. 2 ~ Pg. 25
damn kinda feel bad
The fear, filling their veins and dripping its scent from their skin, wafting across the space towards me.
Cusp Of The Mend | Ch. 2 ~ Pg. 26
love how this is written. vivid
Solweh had gone to her for his facial tattooing
Cusp Of The Mend | Ch. 2 ~ Pg. 27
ooohhh what culture is this
They took our lives to fuel their own
Cusp Of The Mend | Ch. 2 ~ Pg. 29
dickheads
No light seeps through
Cusp Of The Mend | Ch. 2 ~ Pg. 30
hmmm i feel this is symbolic for something. later on perhaps
a nest of bats overhead
Cusp Of The Mend | Ch. 2 ~ Pg. 30
@mossytrashcan sage look, bats spotted!
Here, I am no threat. I fear for what my brothers might be doing, but I can only hope that if they are causing more carnage and destruction as they did at that village, they get what is coming to them. A death just like Ra’jem’s. Permanent.
Cusp Of The Mend | Ch. 2 ~ Pg. 31
eh no more deaths pls. it’s not their fault luna☹️
A breath of a sigh heaves out of my mummified body, ready to hand myself over to the sweet release of death. But it never comes. While my body dies, my mind continues to live, keeping me aware and awake for every last second of my never ending agony. As the bugs and snakes and lizards crawl around the dirt floor, drinking out of the shallow puddle near my head. Going on with their lives.
Cusp Of The Mend | Ch. 2 ~ Pg. 31-32
yea desiccation’s a bitch. sorry to inform you vampires can’t starve to death
that I somehow just knew was created by my brother
Cusp Of The Mend | Ch. 2 ~ Pg. 34
oh wait i missed that! how did bro make another vamp when he just became one. tryhard
Doomed to be trapped inside of my body in the back of this cave. Withered into a shell of what I used to be.
Cusp Of The Mend | Ch. 2 ~ Pg. 34
yo how long has it been
Fully aware as the sound of footsteps start to echo through the cave,
Cusp Of The Mend | Ch. 2 ~ Pg. 35
archer???👀
The door opens before he touches the entryway. A fire springs to life in the brick fireplace
Cusp Of The Mend | Ch. 2 ~ Pg. 38
WITCH🫵🏾
Review Time!
I did not expect you to kill off Ra’jem so quickly🤧 But her quick demise is a nice contrast to Luna’s slow self-inflicted desiccation. That subtle piece of world building with the waterfall vampire! Many questions: How are vampires made in this? The Ma’ye’s aren’t an Original situation cuz Ra’jem died so easily but now that time has passed are they harder to kill than their sires? Also, are I’jam and Solweh hybrids too or is it only Luna that kept her witch powers? Moving on, really love how the only piece of dialogue in this was Luna telling unknown person to go, even though they’re the first source…. food, for a lack of a better word, she’s been near in probably centuries. Still think that no light seeps through line is gonna be important later on, but I’ll just read and see. Next up: Chapter 3 ~ Reawakening♥️
Feeling Thankful
So I didn’t end up coming up with particular goals for November - honestly, this season is quite busy, and I’m finding it plenty to just keep up with the regular household tidying, plan for Thanksgiving next week, and get Christmas in order as much as possible. My in-laws are coming to visit us for Thanksgiving, and we’re doing our Christmas with them as well, since we will be with my family this Christmas. But amid all the preparations, I’m feeling particularly grateful for being able to be a homemaker during this busy time. I have been able to decorate the tree, wrap our presents, plan and shop for Thanksgiving dinner, and generally take most of those burdens off of my husband and not feel frazzled trying to fit everything in on weekends and after work. Of course, I know that people get these things done all the time in dual-income families - but I have had such a more restful holiday season so far being able to do these things little by little (and usually listening to festive music or watching a vintage film). Not really sure what prompted me to post this today, but hey - this is a place for my random thoughts ;) Hoping all of you are having a lovely start to the holiday season as well!
Well, I’ve asked for Mabon off, I’m going through my belongings and putting together a list of donation items (for SAFE, contact-free donations), and I’m trying to reorganize my apartment to make autumn and winter things more accessible.
All that’s left is a menu for a good feast!
