I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed all the good food that comes with the holiday. Spending time with family and friends eating, drinking and sharing special moments is what this time of the year is all about. For most of us, Thanksgiving doesn't end until Friday since there are always leftover to eat! This morning I woke up ready to get back on track! Do you know that you can undo the holiday damage by doing a simple detox for 2-3 days? So I am starting TODAY and wanted to share 5 things that I incorporate into my "post holiday clean up" and hopefully you can give it a shot too! This 5 tips will not take a lot of time! So if you have kids at home or family still in town, there's no excuse wait until Monday to get started. Do them a favor and get them on board with with post holiday clean up too! 1. Drink around 100 ounces of water! Keep track of your water intake! Water will flush out your system and hydrate your body. 2. Cut out white starches like potatoes, rice and bread. Replace those unhealthy carbs with sweat potatoes, brown rice and quinoa. 3. Cut out sugar! Yes that's right, it's time to throw away left over pumpkin pie and other desserts so you aren't tempted to eat them. 4. Eat 3-4 servings of vegetables. Replenish your body with all the nutrients in leafy veggies and fill up on low calorie food. 5. Exercise!!! Sweat is one of the best ways to detox your system. I encourage you to not take the easy approach and go on a walk. It's time to step it up by turning up the intensity. Get in 20-45 minutes of cardio! So what are you waiting for? Do this post holiday cean up NOW and you will start feeling more energetic and healthier within a few hours!
