Does it frighten you that you've grown so soft and different or are you happy with it?

It’s a bit terrifying. I built up walls for a reason. I know now that bringing them down is safe enough, but it feels… against my nature.

I love how you’ve changed for the better, I do, and changing is terrifying for anyone and everyone, but I hope you know I’m not expecting you to be any one way or another all the time.

Thank you. When I was younger, I never thought I would be able to trust someone as wholeheartedly as I do you.

It scared me. Can’t possibly fathom why, now.

Five years ago I would have been shocked at the very notion of a husband alone. What happened to me?

Ah, I can understand that! What about a dog? Will you get one of those sometime? Or perhaps a cat? Or will you forever be content with lovely John, your chameleon, and beloved bees?

I love dogs, I do hope we get a dog at some point. I don’t think John’s ever had a dog. I had an Irish Setter, once. Loyal breed. Absolutely loved it.

Haven’t had a dog since.
