These festive Cookie Christmas Wreaths are a delightful holiday treat. They're buttery and sweet, and they're beautifully decorated to look like Christmas wreaths.

Ingredients: 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1 cup unsalted butter, softened. 3/4 cup granulated sugar. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Green food coloring. Red candies or edible ornaments. 1/2 cup powdered sugar for icing. 2-3 teaspoons milk for icing. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract for icing.

Instructions: Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl. Mix the butter and sugar until they are light and fluffy in a different bowl. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix well. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ones and mix them together until they are well mixed. Mix the dough with green food coloring until you get the color you want. Put the dough in the fridge for about 30 minutes to cool it down. Set the oven to 350F 175C and heat it up. Make a rope out of a small amount of dough. Make a circle and pinch the ends together to make a wreath. Put the wreaths on a baking sheet that has parchment paper on it. For 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden. Powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract should be mixed until smooth while the cookies are baking. The cookies should cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before being moved to a wire rack to cool all the way. Spread the icing over the wreaths after the cookies have cooled. To make the wreaths look like holly berries, decorate them with red candies or edible decorations. Let the frosting harden before you serve it or give it as a gift.

Homemade wrapping paper from grocery bags. Lessons learned: 1) While ink pads are more expensive, they definitely work better with rubber stamps than acrylics do. 2) Gold, copper, and bronze don't show up well on brown paper. 3) Art projects are messy.
