sorry if someone else has said this but i only just now saw the movie -- owen/isabel revisiting the pink opaque and seeing a declawed version of it is to me a sort of metaphor for the revisionist histories people will spin once you come out as trans. the vibe of "the ice cream man never tried to kill you, you were friends!" i feels like my mother telling me being trans came out of nowhere because i love dresses and rom coms etc when i was a little tomboy and she would punish me for it constantly, or the parents of trans femmes who would punish them for being feminine suddenly being like what are you talking about you love football and no i never called you a fag and told you to jump into traffic you snd have always been the best of friends s
