Summery: The Team gathers together to meet Captain America's boyfriend over dinner. Tony's thrilled... really.
"Just... promise me that you'll behave," Cap says, brushing non-existent fluff off of his immaculately clean shirt. "Please?"
'How did he manage to stay so clean after cooking dinner for what seemed like 30 people?' he wanders. 'It was just a Team dinner plus Cap's new fling to introduce him to them all.'
Hawkeye gives Cap a light punch on the shoulder. "Don't worry about it."
Cap lets out a slow breath, giving a little nod.
Tony rolls his eyes. "Yeah," he says, pouring himself a cup of coffee. "Far be it for us to be rude to your special lady," he says.
Banner delivers a hard kick to his shin, making Tony spill coffee over the countertop.
Tony meets Banner's eyes, feeling betrayed. 'Why?'
Banner shakes his head, eyes hard.
Tony scoffs, grabbing a hand towel to clean up the spill. He thought that Cap would appreciate a good old-fashioned jest. Nobody can take a joke these days.
"Tony's still sore that he lost the bet," Widow says, slinking her way over to Cap in a dark evening dress. "Has the man of the hour arrived yet?"
Cap shakes his head. "Traffic. But he'll be here soon."
"Speaking of bets!" Tony says, clapping his hands together loudly to get everyone's attention. "How about a quick one on what Cap's beau looks like before he arrives?"
Cap turns and leaves the kitchen with a sigh which is far too dramatic in Tony's opinion. Widow quickly follows after their very own nonagenarian.
Hawkeye eyes him, skeptically. "Aren't you tired of losing money, Stark?"
Tony bites back the first remark that comes to mind, his shins still throbbing. "It's just a drop in the bucket to me, Feathers McGraw," he says. "So any takers? I'm thinking: flowery and waifish. Small. Shy. A homebody kind of person. Kitschy floral patterns all day, every day. 'Save The Planet' recycled tote. What do you think?"
"Captain Rogers' guest has arrived," JARVIS announces.
Tony rubs his hands together eagerly. "Goodie!" he says.
"Behave, Tony," Banner reminds.
"Yeah, yeah. Got it," Tony says. "Don't want to scare the poor thing off. Cap will be insufferable."
"Tony! I mean it," Banner says.
"I know! Best behavior-..." Tony catches his first look at Cap's guy. "Wow!"
The man was tall, impossibly tall. Towering over Cap... which felt unreal. How the hell could anyone be bigger than Cap. He's huge! The man's musicals had their own personal muscles. You could fit a regular-sized person in the guy's biceps.
This man was a florist? What type of fucking plants did this guy sell? The man-eating kind called 'Audrey II'? Should they be worried? Was he on SHIELD's threat list? Maybe he should check on that...
And the well-kept, mid-back length, blond hair that would give Fabio a run for his money any day of the week. Tony wasn't usually one for beard envy, but god... It looks soft and silky, plush. Kept in perfect braids that reached his voluptuous pecks, with tiny stone beads carved with what appeared to be Nordic runes? If Tony put any stock at all in religion or mythology, he'd claim that the guy was a reincarnation of Thor... or some similar deity.
He wore dark-washed jeans that clung to his tree-trunk-like legs, a plain but elegant gray shirt, and a crisp maroon overcoat with a high collar. Fashionable but not flashy. And not a single flower to be seen on him, not even embroidered.
"Avengers..." Cap calls, cheeks flushed. 'When did Captain America blush? When did this start?' "This is my partner, Donald Blake."
Just watched American Psycho for the first time last night and holy shit that's so funny he's actually literally homophobic. Luis Carruthers successfully avoids death just by being gay bc Patrick gets so freaked out by the fact that his intended victim was gay and into him that he runs away. Opposite of bury your gays. The power of gay literally scared away a homophobic murderer. Incredible. 10/10 no notes.
When tumblr says they’re anti-discrimination, but by the words they choose to censor, they are a huge part of the discriminatory problem...
As a ND person, I am absolutely disgusted over the fact that they banned anything we could use to stim. That is so abelist on so many levels.
As a person in the mental illness community, I’m disgusted that they blocked all of our vent tags.
And as a good person in general, the fact that they banned all of the tags we used to call out people on racism, antisemetism, abelism, homophobia, etc, is even more disgusting.
Im so disappointed in this site, but I’m not gonna leave it. I’m going to fight until we have our rights of free speech back. And I’m gonna fight until this app stops discriminating and hurting minorities. Screw this.
