My mom is being such a bitch. I was finishing up She-are and my sister asked why two girls were kissing and she just grabbed my computer and told me that what I was watching wasn’t for kids. It want till she actually checked the show that she said sorry. She tries to be progressive and say ok to it but how DARE her other child know that girls can kiss. So am I just not allowed to ever bring a gf home? The mild homophobic is fucking me up. This is BS

Turns out the homophobia is a bit more than mild. Turns out gay only ok if it’s keep a secret. My sister asked about the kiss again and my mom just said that it was a “friend kiss”. Also, my sister started watching it again and kept on calling Bow a baby because he has emotions. This toxic masculinity needs to go, and it needs to go NOW!!!!

Sometimes I’m arguing with a homophobe/transphobe and they’re like “where’s the proof of that kind of thing happening” and it’s me, I’ve personally experienced a lot of things that involve or revolve around my gender and sexuality. 

Then most of the time they go “why should I believe you” and I just know that what they really want is someone like them, someone cis/straight to confirm that the things that I have experienced could have happened. Someone that they see as being superior and more reliable than me.

tbh... no... we need to get rid of sterotypes and the idea of 'normal’ when comes to things like gender, sexuality and race before we can have less homophobia, sexism and racism.
