Tropical Storm Hone is approaching the Hawaiian Islands. It's gonna clip the big island then briefly upgrade to a hurricane. It looks like it's on track to miss Oahu, the big population center. The storm being just south might still lead to high wind gusts and heavy rain. If on the islands, make sure you have proper access to water and non perishable food in case of power outages. Charge up any devices you can and extra batteries too.

A little concerning is the high pressure system passing to the North of the Hawaiian Islands. The difference in pressure may cause high winds from the north. This is a similar setup to last year's Lahaina fires. Leeward areas should take extra precautions in fire safety.
