let me introduce to you @honeycombhenry‘s idea of surgeon Geno, who is the most eligible (assumed) bachelor in the entire hospital until he says, “I won’t be here next week--I’m taking my husband to Disneyland.” People are devastated (two nurses have to leave to cry), but when he whips out the family photos, everyone is immediately confused.
“G, this is a photo of you and Sidney Crosby,” the receptionist says.
“Yeah,” Geno says, going to the next photo on his phone. “Here he is when he say we stay in for his birthday and he try to make cake.”
“That’s really sad, honey,” the receptionist says, thinking that Geno photoshopped Sidney into his lonely life, then turns back to her work.
“Well, not that sad. Sidney ate like half cake that night,” Geno mutters, misunderstanding.
In two hours, the whole hospital goes from thirsting after Dr. Malkin to both pitying him and thirsting after him.
“How I’m photoshop?” Geno demands, gesturing to another photo of Sidney kissing Geno’s cheek. “He right there!”
“I saw him wear that shirt on Ellen last month,” the technician says. “Nice try, Geno.”
“We own a washing machine,” Geno shouts after the guy.
The one day, Sidney Crosby himself comes in to the front desk, asking, “Is Dr. Malkin here?”
The receptionist gawks.
“Uh--I--um--” She squeaks. “You’re--”
“Geno’s husband,” Sidney says quickly. “Is he down this hall?”
“Sid,” Geno says, coming down the hallway.
Sidney sighs in relief and folds himself into Geno’s arms while the receptionist just gapes at them.
From @honeycombhenry: “Geno's worn out and just really drained from a really difficult surgery on a kid who was in an accident and nobody bothers him when his husband shows up with food (EVEN THOUGH THEY LIKE, SUPER WANT TO). sidney feeds him and then they spend the rest of his break with geno's head in sidney's lap getting his hair stroked”
You guys, big, BIG thanks to @honeycombhenry for this amazing artwork of Sid, Geno and Katya from my fic, When You Least Expect It. I am in awe, speechless. You exceeded our expectations and we love it.
