Saya, emerging from the Fortress of Fire in Tanya's dream, like a hungry ghost in Arthdal Chronicles S01E06
Hi! So! I just finished Arthdal Chronicles and I have lost my entire mind over Saya! It's really bad! Here I come bearing gifs.
STUPID
sometimes i wonder if i feel the same way as asagiri when creating characters from thin air… like wdym i have to create an ability based on a synopsis found on a sketchy website that hasn’t been updated since 2017!?
wait… don’t tell me that none of the novels are translated into english!?!?1? goodreads only has 3 reviews??? what is this absolute torture 😫😭
then there’s the panic of looking them up and mistaking the fanon wiki for the official one, scrolling for ten minutes through every character name, researching weird words for names of organizations, backstories, and then the cycle repeats itself
also no one talks about how difficult honorifics are. what honorific do i use when a girl is referring to a guy or vice versa…
“chan” for girls referring to girls (basically a term of endearment or a small joke)
“kun” when guys are referring to someone the same age as them or younger—girls almost never use this and guys hardly use this for girls
“san” is the japanese equivalent of “mr/mrs” but still not extremely formal (which is weird because where i live, it’s seen as a sign respect, basically used in formal situations AND when referring to parents, teachers, etc. it’s not something that’s just thrown around. to me, this honorific kinda feels like calling an acquaintance “sir” when they’re the same age as you instead of someone in a higher status—even though it isn’t)
anyways very difficult blah blah blah and i’m back to writing
