Hi what gpa is required to have a “member of deans honour roll” written on my transcript? I’m in health, 2nd year
You would need a 7.0 cGPA.

For convocation, when they announce your name, I know that it appears like this for example: Sarah Henderson Bachelor of Arts with honours Psychology But does it also show if you are on deans list? do they announce that?
I don’t remember, I know they announce Summa Cum Laude and Magna Cum Laude.

Hey I wanted to know for graduation how is distinction calculated? Is it based on the overall GPA or major GPA or faculty GPA?
Honours distinction is based on cGPA.
- H
What do you have to do to graduate on dean's list? (How high a GPA) & H, if your employers didn't look at your transcript, what else did they consider the most? Thank you!
Your GPA should be 7.00+ for Deans Honour Roll.
All the Honours distinctions based on faculty can be found here: http://convocation.students.yorku.ca/info/faq/honours
I personally think they considered my volunteer experience; I volunteered at a hospital for 5 years and then I volunteered at a Family doctor’s office after graduating, while I was still looking for a job. I also did volunteer work at a welfare centre. For my second job though they mostly looked at what I did at my first job before they hired me - the actual job posting was asking for 3 years experience, but I still applied with just 7 months experience and I got the offer. If you’re looking for jobs you have to apply everywhere, and sometimes I do ignore the years experience requirement if I think I can do the job the employer has posted.
No worries! :)

Is being a member of the Dean's Honour Roll different than just being in an honours program? I'm in an honours program, but I also am a member of the Dean's Honour Roll. Would this be on my degree or anything too?
Being in a honours program means you need 120 credits/4 year to graduate, whereas a Bachelor (without Honours) is a 3 year/90 credits program.
Being in the Dean’s Honour Roll means your cumulative grade point average is 7.00+ (this number also depends on your program)
Each year you will see a line that says “member of the Dean’s Honour Roll" under your academic decision, should your GPA meets the criteria. For each year, you do not receive a certificate for this.
HOWEVER, when you graduate, if your GPA of 4 years (or whatever years) is high enough there will be a line on your degree that indicates your standing. See more details at: http://www.yorku.ca/mygrad/info/faq/honours

Unfortunately, not all Honours distinctions show up on your degree (like Dean's Honour Roll), but it will be stated on your transcript for sure.
Please note that not all academic honours are printed on the diploma (such as Member of the Dean's Honour Roll), however they will be reflected on the convocation program and your transcript.

What is "Member of Dean's Honour Roll"? Will I be getting anything for being a member of dean's honour roll? I have 25 credits so far, and I got that in my Academic Decision from Final Grade page.
It’s essentially a title similar to graduating Cum Laude, and it will be printed on your transcript.

Hey, I saw the previous question about the 8.09 GPA. I have an 8.22 GPA and it just says "sessional academic achievement list". Should that be summa cum laude? I'm in LAPS.
From my understanding, these Honours distinctions are put on your transcript when you’re graduating and not before that.
I could be wrong, but if you want to make sure then contact your Faculty.
