Happy 391st Birthday ❤️🔬🎂
It's not much, but I baked a cake with all of Hooke's favorite ingredients: chocolate, freshly-brewed coffee, and (mascarpone) cheese icing.
(I know it looks like💩 but it actually tastes pretty good)
Happy Birthday. 🔬🪰🪝💖
Newtonmas is the period between Isaac Newton's Julian and Gregorian birthdates (December 25 — January 4). Ironically, it was founded by atheist heathens, but in general it's like more scientific take on Christmas, and a time to celebrate Newton's achievements.
Since last year, I've been celebrating Hookemas (July 18 — July 28) as a time to commemorate the achievements of Newton's lesser-known rival.
I doubt if it's a thing that will ever catch on enough to go mainstream, but it would mean the world to me if everyone reading this would take a few moments to remember a man whose greatest fear was being forgotten.
Just one moment to honor an obscure polymath who lit the spark that would become Newton's torch. A man who walked so that future experts in various fields could run, and eventually soar as they do today.
